Forums - Nintendo - Are you getting Super Smash Bros. for Wii U or 3DS or both?

Which version are you getting?

Wii U 118 36.42%

3DS 21 6.48%

both 158 48.77%

none 26 8.02%

I just pre ordered the Wii U version today

Playing Xenoblade 2 before I buy Xenoblade 3 (otherwise I couldn't wait to play 3).

Can they announce a new Fire Emblem? A remake of Genealogy or Tellius would suffice !

Only Wii U.

I haven't 100% decided, but I'm about 99% sure I'll get the Wii U version, and about 80% sure I'll get the 3DS version.

WiiU only. SSB is a local multi-player big TV with friends kinda game.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Definitely Wii U version.
MAYBE 3DS version in a long while or if it has a nice release price.

I'm not going to shell out money for both, and quite frankly, I still maintain just as strongly as the day they announced it would be for both systems, that putting it on 3DS is a waste. The graphics in the 3DS game are, quite frankly, pretty terrible, as in worse looking now than Brawl even, whose character models at least still look good. And regardless of semantics, the Wii U version should have been the only version, they should have focused all their time and effort into ONE game, not two "versions" of one game (with two completely different sets of asset to have to create), and the Wii U version certainly should not be missing out on or lacking any content AT ALL, simply because the 3DS medium and hardware are more limited.

Wii U has a perfectly fine GPU, and BluRay capacity disc size. There is no reason on earth why anything should have to get cut this time. And simply put, the Wii U game being the only version would ensure it's sales. I still believe the Wii U game will sell quite well, but it would been guaranteed strong sales, and thus a bigger system sales boost as well, if it was only a home console game, as the series has always been. And even IF Nintendo was determined to make a portable Smash, they should have done so AFTER this game was finished and released. Done that way, they'd be maximizing the benefit and profits of both games, on both systems.

The way they're doing it now, it's inevitably going to cause some sales cannibalization. And that just isn't smart business.

Sorry, but I'm only getting the WiiU version, because the 3DS version just looks very uninteresting to me.. Maybe I'm missing something.. :-/

Wii U for local multi. I thought about the 3ds one but it just seems kind of pointless when I can have access to the better game.

WiiU only. Local multiplayer is very important in a game like smash bros.

3DS.
