Yes, but the IP is not made by Sony then. Thats my point. Nothing more. They have made a shit ton of other great IPs though, just not those I listed.

I did. I went to wikipedia to see who developed the games. None of them had any Sony studio attached to it.

It doesnt have to in order to make the IP.

A company can create an IP and outsource it to anyone on the planet who will agree to make it as intended.

You didn't misunderstand.  He meant it exactly as you took it and then laughed so he could say he was joking.  The number of Nintendo fans in this thread splitting hairs to say that Nintendo made more games is laughably sad.  All someone had to do was list contributions to the gaming industry other than Nintendo and they all come out of the woodwork with torches and pitchforks.
