You didn't misunderstand. He meant it exactly as you took it and then laughed so he could say he was joking. The number of Nintendo fans in this thread splitting hairs to say that Nintendo made more games is laughably sad. All someone had to do was list contributions to the gaming industry from someone other than Nintendo and they all come out of the woodwork with torches and pitchforks.
