Well if you have 100 people working in one of your divisions and it closes, then 100 people lose their jobs. If you are big like MS and have 17000 people in your division and it closes, then 17000 people lose their job. Its a bigger number, but you have created way more jobs.

Well Microsoft have a hard time in europe. The marketing team is inefficient there (I'm not talking about employee skills). maybe Microsoft have come to the conclusion that keeping all of them or only a small percentage is not what is going to be changing the situation over there so they've cut out the fat.

Yeah. Microsofts money troubles are widely known. Not long and it willhave to beg in the streets like Apple and Google.

You guys are acting like they are in trouble. They are a massive company and one of the most profitable in the world. Out of the 18k being layed off, 12k are from Nokia. All they're doing is getting rid of employees they don't need after the aquisition cause they already have employees in those positions.
