Rule 1 of Nintendo 3DS Sales:
Never doubt Pokemon!

Yes, some people have been waiting years for these remakes.

The last time I looked at the sales of the 3DS, western numbers (NA+EU) were 3 times the japanese ones.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

3DS also has Professor Layton vs Ace Attorney in August, Theatrhythm in September and Persona Q at some point this year, Sonic Boom, and Fantasy Life along with a selection of great eShop titles

Are any of those games all that big in the west though? I'm pretty sure Persona isn't all that big.

Persona is pretty big in the West, selling .25mil on the Vita in North America, which is pretty much the same as it sold in Japan.

Professor Layton is pretty huge and Ace Attorney isn't insignificant.

The first Theatrhythm sold 0.2mil in NA which isn't insignificant

Sonic Boom is a Sonic game that will have the marketing machine of the TV show behind it.

Fantasy Life will likely be pretty small, but it still looks like a cool game and could have Tomodachi style legs...

So not huge games by any means, but certainly something to keep current owners happy and pull in a few new customers here and there. As someone else said, the 3DS is at the point where it can sell based on its backlog alone, so I don't think we really have to worry too much about system selling software.

The irony of your statement is the most current numbers on VGChartz show Japan being the 3DS weakest market for the week... :)

But that's how it is with everything except the Sony handhelds pretty much. Plus Japan's 3DS sales are gonna rock after Yokai Watch 2 or whatever shows up on here

Nah, there are so many good games for the 3DS that you'd have to have no life to play them all in addition to the games coming out

There are barely any big games releasing on PS4 and X1.

I'm pretty sure the 3DS is fine, no matter where it is. After all, it has a healthy library of games.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

They're winning in Europe and Japan, and really close to 1st in the USA.
