Ubisoft selling over twice as many units on PS4 than Xbox One

Watch Dogs a huge seller on PS4.

Ubisoft is selling over twice as many units on PlayStation 4 than Xbox One, figures from the company have revealed.

As detailed in the company's latest sales report, 36 per cent of its total Q1 sales came from PlayStation 4 titles, with Xbox One making up just 17 per cent.

The difference is almost certainly down to the launch of Watch Dogs, which sold almost 50 per cent of its copies on PS4 during its opening week and was heavily supported by Sony.

However, the percentage for both platforms has more than doubled since Ubisoft's last quarter, where 13 per cent of Ubisoft's sales came from PS4 and 7 per cent from Xbox One.

Latest official figures pin Xbox One as having shipped over 5 million units since its launch last November with PlayStation 4 sales standing at over 7 million. It was revealed yesterday, meanwhile, that Watch Dogs had sold in over 8 million units.

Sounds about right, almost twice as many PS4s have been sold.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

And that's with Xb1 users so starved for games.

even though this info was in some threads yesterday, it's funny that you state that it is selling twice as much on the PS4 as the XB1. Ther source info doesn't actually state that it only states that as a company, The sales of all of it's software is higher(36%) on the PS4 than the XB1 (17%).

It is near the end of the end....

To be fair PS4 have almost twice the install base so not that big deal.

Expected, but still great news. Now, can you imagine how much more Destiny is going to sell on the PS4!!?

Considering the extra content and extencive market association with PS4 there is nothing surprising if you figure that Watch Dogs was the Ubsoft cash cow last quarter.

The sales ratio on the other hand remains unchanged looking at next gen only.

MS mentioned in their press releases early in the year that the X1 userbase was buying more games than the PS4 userbase, 2.9 games per console compared to 2.2 on PS4 I think it was.  So if some games are selling over double on PS4 compared to X1 when the install base is not doubled then it would suggest that PS4 owners could have overtaken X1 players in terms of average amount of games purchased with the system, which would be reasonably significant

That advertising really played a major role here.
