Is Xbox One's pricecut really working? We always knew it had an advantage in NA -- but it still is coming in behind PS4.

I'd say so. Xbox 360 thrived because it was $100 cheaper most of the gen. Being the same price and all....these numbers are expected.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I still can't trust these numbers, but damn - Xbox one is so fucked if it was true, Nintendo has positive momentum on its side - and a strong exclusive line up leading up towards the holiday - I can see the Wii U pulling ahead worldwide

The one needs to find it's identity soon - because right now, it's sameness with the ps4 is a detriment.

The 3DS is returning to it's beast mode. I reckon it will easily beat the ps4 for the rest of the yeaar

X1 being 35 k being PS4 isn't as bad a gap, especially since we have yet to see X1's real baseline until September.

"Real baseline"? What? Neither the PS4 nor the XB1 have any current games to really judge that by a different scale. The gap is the gap tbh. Holidays should boost sales, but the same time in 2015 (dead-zone summer months) will dip substantially once more for everybody. It's just the nature of gaming sales, holidays are high, summer is low. There's nothing that sets one apart, unless you think that magically Summer is better than average for PS4 and not for XB1 proportionally. And that makes literally zero sense.

1. What? Look at the preorder chart, Nintendo exclusives are behind most Xbone multiplats

2. Definitely not given the barren 3DS line-up. And PS4 is 4 times as expensive as 3DS, so it would need to outsell it 4:1 to "beat" it

1, Multiplats are not doing much for the Xbox one, take for example the Watch Dogs - it sold well on the xbox one but it hardly drove hardware sales, and not to mention the ps4 is now perceived as the better multiplat machine. To futher exemplify my point - look at the effect of Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U - hardware sales are up

2. Youkai Watch 2, Monster Hunter 4, Final Fantasy Explorers, Dragon Quest X, Fantasy Life, Professor Layton X Phoenix Wright, Harvest Moon, Persona Q Super Smash bros and Pokemon OR AS - Barren Line-up my ass. @bold - I don't understand the logic behind the comment. Outselling = "beat it", ratio's mean nothing

Watch Dogs is an exception. It wasn't your average multiplat. It was a Sony pretend exclusive. Marketing and content incentives allowed it to behave (sales wise) the way a AAA exclusive would, thus X1 didn't get much of a boost.

You mentioned 4 games for Japan, 4 games for the west (actually not 'cause Layton vs Wright is just for US) and 2 games for both regions. That makes 6 games for each territory, which makes only 1 game per month, which is barren : even Vita or Xbone have more than that.

The logic is simple : you can't say that an investment of 4€ is equal to an investment of 1€. If the consumer paid 4€ rather than 1€, that means the product is seen as more valuable.

Those are only the biggest releases on 3DS.

It's pretty bad given what it has taken to get there

They are more in Japan but for the West that's about it (maybe 1 or 2 more)

My 2 cents: xbone overtracked in us the last three weeks. Otherwise on amazon the xbone wouldn't have been so low in bestsellers chart all these weeks and this also would explain the 75$ offer for Xbox 360 customers.

This is obvious, not only the Amazon charts, but Gamestop and Best Buy also show a seriously low rate of sales for XB1. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and Amazon has shown the winner of PS4 v XB1 every month this year with ease (and even with pretty sharp accuracy if you look at months where they're somewhat close, and when they're not!).

NPD will show XB1 to be fairly seriously overtracked in the US.
