nothing wrong with a game requiring online if it improves the game. People don't complain about having to be online for multiplayer. Plus, this obviously wouldn't apply to every game. If they can do destruction on the levels shown in the crackdown tech, then I'm on board for the online requirement...

Yep exactly. Where are all the people complaining about the online requirement in demon's souls, dark souls, and dark souls 2?

What have you been smoking? There is no online requirement for either of those games.

That's the funny thing. I and plenty of Sony fans will never support a DRM console or digital only. I personally would never buy that type of product from anyone. If that does become the future then I am done with console gaming. I would only play on Steam then and I would have to buy a WiiU buy default if Sony had DRM.That is the day that I stop playing console period.

So... DRM through steam is perfectly fine, but on a console it is a deal breaker?  Ok then...

I play consoles to avoid restrictions like DRM or the need to always be online, plus I would not need to buy new hardware to play the latest games if I gamed on PC only. It would actually save me money if it came to that.

Is your PC from the future so that you dont need to ever buy new hardware components for it to keep up with game requirements?

It will be as stealthy as a fat banker with pockets full of coins as he sways his way through a room crowded full of silent impoverished people.

Or as stealthily as the spun media.

this isnt PR they need right now.

but it absolutely confirms my decision to get a ps4 and make it my main system was the right one.

which is why it isnt PR... but sony fan spin.

You wouldnt understand anyways. We dont agree on anything.

It is if its public, and doesnt help xbo popularity. Period. Even if you like the idea it isnt supported by the majority and that has shown in sales.

Shameful BUMP

umm ps now is to play ps3,2,1 games on ps4(and other stuff)

Microsofts cloud is to provide compute power to xbox one native games, which means if games require cloud even for their single player (ala sunset overdrive) then it is always online

for now...

Its the first step after all.

wise up.

you saw that in your cristal ball... now I believe.

I dont get people saying Sony will do the same.

In that case, Sony will also murder chinese people, entering chinese game market is the first step.

But seriously, whenever they do mess up, we will question them too.

Good and bring back the family sharing as it was first intended.

I wish they never got rid of it, the only pre-180 feature that was actually a gamechanger

Well, isn't PS Now Sonys first step into this as well? Or do people actually think they don't want this future as well? Personally, I hope both companies go this route sooner rather than later.

Sony and Microsoft had both taken baby steps into using the cloud last gen with cloud saving. This gen Sony is still taking a step while Microsoft is taking a huge risk on the cloud as a whole. Sony is using it for their network and Microsoft is trying to sell the full power of the cloud on people, but so far its a failure. Hasn't been a full year though yet, so we'll see. We're almost there though.

This is what fascinates me, since it is Sony who are starting a full-on streaming service. Then people on this thread say "Yes, but they use PS3´s for that service" as if Sony would stop their devlopment of streaming service the moment PS Now started. MS are honest about where they see the future. Sony agrees with them, they are just making the smart move of not telling everyone, but instead release PS Now.

I see a lot of tinfoil hat opinions here. Sony will probably expand the streaming service to PS4 games ONCE the PS5 is out.  But again even if the PS5 moved to a all streaming device it's still different than what MS tried to do.  Why people can't see the difference is very puzzleing.

You need to be online to stream as the content, if people need to understand how streaming is done google it. MS tried and are still trying to take games you purchase and the console does most of the work to play but instead adds elements that need to have a constant connection to use! Even for single player! I understand needing to be online to use multiplayer (no brainer) but for single player? that is complete BS. The chances of the PS4 going the way of a streaming device is moot, It can add the feature but you will always be able to get the games via physical media or digital.
