Well, isn't PS Now Sonys first step into this as well? Or do people actually think they don't want this future as well? Personally, I hope both companies go this route sooner rather than later.

Sony and Microsoft had both taken baby steps into using the cloud last gen with cloud saving. This gen Sony is still taking a step while Microsoft is taking a huge risk on the cloud as a whole. Sony is using it for their network and Microsoft is trying to sell the full power of the cloud on people, but so far its a failure. Hasn't been a full year though yet, so we'll see. We're almost there though.

This is what fascinates me, since it is Sony who are starting a full-on streaming service. Then people on this thread say "Yes, but they use PS3´s for that service" as if Sony would stop their devlopment of streaming service the moment PS Now started. MS are honest about where they see the future. Sony agrees with them, they are just making the smart move of not telling everyone, but instead release PS Now.

I see a lot of tinfoil hat opinions here. Sony will probably expand the streaming service to PS4 games ONCE the PS5 is out.  But again even if the PS5 moved to a all streaming device it's still different than what MS tried to do.  Why people can't see the difference is very puzzleing.

You need to be online to stream as the content, if people need to understand how streaming is done google it. MS tried and are still trying to take games you purchase and the console does most of the work to play but instead adds elements that need to have a constant connection to use! Even for single player! I understand needing to be online to use multiplayer (no brainer) but for single player? that is complete BS. The chances of the PS4 going the way of a streaming device is moot, It can add the feature but you will always be able to get the games via physical media or digital.
