You like to think that reading a few in-depth reviews and watching youtube clips of the gameplay can't compare to actually playing it. Well sir, im sure many eletist gamers like to think so, but they'd be wrong.

Your suggesstion to be blissfully ignorant until release instead of using past recent games to makes estimates..... is just humanity taking a step back logically. Sorry. Playground may just have 1 game under their belt, but their 2nd is literally the same concept, only bigger. There is no genre leap that their team may or may not tackle. So again, by saying 1 hit wonder, is awfully negatively optomistic on your part, and again taking the blissfully ignorant route.

so.. explain to me how great fh2 is going to be without playing it.  tell me how bad DC is going to be worse off without playing it.  I rather read the previews indepth reviews and make my own opinion off that than just what some forum poster (especially someone who apparently thinks MS shit don't stink ever) tries to sell me before the game even hits retail. so again.. awesome psychic powers you must have..

and yes.. 1 title under the belt doesn't change the fact that it's only 1 title under their belt. 1 game a deep history it does not make.  thanks for the laughs though..

Since FH2 is Fh but with better graphics and a bigger world, I can actually give you a estimate based on the prequel. It isn't like they are different genres or anything. DC isn't going to be bad.....what gave you that idea? The latest Motorstorm games are high 70's metas. That ain't bad (im sorry if you think so). Just saying their is a liklihood FH2 will be the better reviewed game based on recent examples. Just saying that's more logical then going in blind...

Guess when Fh2 gets good reviews you'll just say "2 games under their belt isn't enough". Well see I suppose.

Better than FH2, snow as well.

In an interview with the PlayStation Blog today, DriveClub art director Alex Perkins explained that the weather conditions will run the gamut from a drizzle to a downpour and flurries to a blizzard.

"You can expect it to change dynamically and unpredictably while you race — because we've designed it to be just like real weather systems," said Perkins. "Lots of things play into this, like elevation, wind speed and temperature."

Perkins gave the example of driving in Norway, where the snow will get heavier as you go up a mountain. The conditions can even get to the point of zero visibility. Players will be able to fully customize the weather themselves, and create unique challenges to share with friends.

Thats good to hear. Its the way weather should be done now.

Water also pools in dips and at the bottom of hills while drying faster on the slopes and flats, rather than just being a single layer effect on the whole track.

lol when you put it like that, seems very unecessary given the game is about driving at speeds too fast to notice these things.

You dont think you would notice the slpash and spray when you drive through a puddle, or the car handling slipping as the wheels spin.

Erm ok, you clearly dont drive.

see.. this is what you are arguing with no one about.  Nobody said anything about either games not going to be good.  but assuming and making predications of how well a game will be based on what? metascores? history?  was crysis 2 better than 1?  was farcry 2 better than 1?  was super mario 2 better than 1?  was GT 5 better than 4?  Better than 3?  this list could easily be populated with sequel games that were "expected" to be better... sometimes it's not the case.. i mean, all they had to do was expand on something solid they already had, just like you imply, right?  my whole argument was to Chris Hu stating "It will be a better game no matter what you think check out the metascore for the first game Playground Games has a excellent track record Revolution Studios not so much.  Better yet actually play the first game otherwise you really have no clue what your talking about."  and then ol jolly you happened to step in and go on with garble about ""better" game being subjective = I am a sore metacritic loser, yet will priase metascores when they suit me"  and history nonsense.  it's your own insinuation that one's already defeated before either game has ever arrived based on "metas" and "history".  downplay DC all you guys want, but don't be surprised if it comes out solid.  And I've already said Fh was a solid game also.  Nobody argued over gameplay, etc.. this thread started out discussing graphics.  Seems you most vocal xbox fans just can't accept that a more capable machine is pushing out better graphics.. so what do you do?  attack with metas, history, secret sauces, etc, as if it's indicative of the present and future.  but like i said.. thanks for the laughs.

uh oh.. watch out.. a racer who drives so fast, he doesn't notice his enviroment.  so now a racer and a psychic.  Sales, you got awesome powers.

Lol.. it's called immersion.  DC specifically put a big chunk of their focus on the minute detailing of the whole environment to create that immersion.. and it's paying off for gamers who actual pay attention and appreciate the details.. it's not like you were driving so fast that you didn't notice cardboard cutout crowds.. "oh no he di'int"

You keep associating making estimates with being psychic. Get your mind out of the dark ages.

I think you need to look up the metascores of all of Evolution Studios games again their track record is not so stellar.  Also the last time they made a game with real cars was in 2004.

uhm.. avg 80s.. surely Evolution games must of played well and sold well enough to be bought by SCE and continue to create racing games well into 2014, no?  You're basing everything off of history, which Playground only has 1 game to its' name, albiet the first was pretty good, but hardly not indicative of what Fh2 will be.  like i said.. could very well bomb.  Same as Evolution's history of meta 80's games.. for all you know, DC could be their hit that gives em a 90+.. so how exactly is a studio with avg. 80 meta not stellar?  regardless, It's all speculation up to this point, until both games are released, but assuming like you are that one's already better than the other just because of studio association?  and not even that.. but basically comparing a studio that's been making games since the ps1 days to a studio who's first game appeared in 2012?  lmao.. ND's track record wasn't so stellar meta wise and historically.. and look at them now..or look at Crytek.. awesome start up titles to creating duds and now possibly gone..

Pretty good you need to check the numbers again it was the highest rated racing game of 2012.  Evolution Studios on the other hand never released the highest rated racing game of any years one of their games game out there where always racing games that year that where better and rated higher.  Also there is no way that DriveClub will be a 90+ on meta it lacks content like all of their previous games.  Which is not the case with Horizon 2 it will at least feature three times as much content as the first game.  Just the single player campaign will be at least four times longer.

Driveclub looks quite a few tiers better.

DC looks far better and that's on low quality vids and gifs. I might get both maybe even write out a review comparison. FH2 only if they fixed the antializing form F5, that annoyed the hell out of me.

Both exclusives similar games, but one is on clearly more powerful hardware. A difference is to be expected.
