Forums - Sony - Impressive Looking Screens From Everybodys Gone To The Rapture Shows Power Of CryEngine On PS4

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture is an upcoming first-person adventure title currently in development at The Chinese Room and SCE Santa Monica Studios. The game is powered by powerful Crytek's CryEngine and is scheduled to launch exclusively on Playstation 4.

Recently, The Chinese Room via Twitter shared some gorgeous looking in-game screenshots of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture showcasing highly-detailed environment that will feature in the game. This is probably the best example of what developers can achieve on Playstation 4 with Crytek's CryEngine. Check out the screenshots below and tell us what you guys think about it.

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture will be based around six characters, each telling their own story, and each connected to landmarks in the world that evolve as the game progresses. The game will take place in a village in Shropshire during the apocalypse.

After No Man's Sky, this is probably the most awaited and highly anticipated indie title on Playstation 4. There's no exact release date yet, it coming in 2015.

The studio's currently working on Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, a first-person exploration game for PlayStation 4 somewhat in the vein of their previous work -- "It's an open-world, story-driven game, taking the trajectory of Dear Esther and Machine for Pigs and trying to do something new," says Dan Pinchbeck, the studio's creative director. "We're really interested in looking at the unique properties of storytelling in games."

Looks nice I must say.

It gives me the same British feel I've got from Resistance Fall of Man years ago, I have very high hopes for this.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

My problem isn't with the "S" part in FPS per say, its the fact that its still another First person game. so far we have or will have..

  • COD
  • BF
  • KZ
  • no mans sky
  • rainbow six
  • evolve
  • next elder scrolls game
  • the witness
  • halo
  • homefront
  • mirrors edge
  • kingdom come
  • everyones gone to the rapture
  • dying light
  • alien isolation
  • metro
  • thief
  • dues ex
  • daylight
and I am only mentioning games coming this gen or in the next 18 to 24 months or so. I am sure i am missing a lot of them. its like you can't take a step in any direction without stepping on a FP game.

i don't know what is the problem with first person... it is the right way to do an immersive game

But if it bothers you, at least you've got Rime! Soon--ish...whenever
