Microsoft tried to get PC gamers to pay for online gaming with Windows Live, but it failed. Gamers united and turned down Live on PC. Um....no. MS allowed them to make these charges on Xbox Live.

Prologue was a taste test for GT5 because it was eagerly awaited being as popular as the GT franchise was (is) and had three updates within the period of time before GT5 finally released. If you want to talk about a glorified demo that could be beaten in five minutes look no further than MGS.

So why didnt Playstation gamers unite and tweet Yosh and tell him they werent happy?    I sure because they are 4thegamerz and Yosh is the most amazing man on the universe they would have relented.

Get real and get off the MS bashing crusade.

LOL Microsoft were led by example like good little boys because sometimes it takes competition to show you that you're wrong. Look at the Xbox today and what it couldn't have been if people hadn't flipped their shit at Microsofts policies. Maybe it takes a guy like Spencer to appoloize for the games Microsoft plays with consumers and make promises for MS to be more "transparent" with consumers.

Yes, I am on a MS bashing crusade. Everything I said was just made up because you want to ignore its existence.

Sorry I cant see the answer to my question there... You cited the uproar of PC gamers in successfully preventing for paying for online.  Steam dont require paymetn, Ninty dont.  So why didnt playstation owners unite and force Sony to remove the requirement to pay for online from the PS+ fees?

I take it that you never took in what I wrote earlier. As I said Michael Pachter made it known that the people vote with their wallets no matter how they complain about paying for online. Once the exploitation became a way of life even Sony jumped in on it. You must also remember that is another strain of profit besides selling the consoles themselves and  Sony kind of needs more profit anywhere they can find it right now. Even though I detest the thought of Sony following Microsoft, the market didn't exactly disagree on consoles since at one time on the Xbox you had to have Xbox Live to even remotely enjoy a good portion of what it meant to own a console last gen. Microsoft just bullshitted everyone into believing it was all premium. Sony led by example and Microsoft followed Sony when they showed Microsoft what premium online should be. Xbox Live Gold today is pretty much PSN Plus. Xbox Live Silver is pretty much standard PSN.

PC gamers did not support Windows Live. Its much harder to  get peoples money when its all not funneled down the into a closed system like Xbox Live or PSN. There is no central dictatorship on PC since its an open system.

Probably because of the PS+ games. That's the main reason i pay for PS+ anyway. The only subscription that is worth it

Good old Stage completely ignoring that PSN was a complete joke next to Xbox Live for years, and would likely still be a complete joke if they didn't have that to compete against.

I'm curious, do you ever come down off your soap box?
Ya don't bother answering that, I know you don't.

Typical STAGE is typical.

You had them before with PS+

Why was it ok for them to put online play in there?

Tell you why... PS+ wasnt a commercial success (very low take up which has been admitted by Sony themselves) and they had to force it shomehow, so they included online mulyiplayer thus forcing people to buy PS+.  That is a fact.

Kinda. We first had 1 or 2 games, then it became 3/4, now we get 6 games each month. That's 0.69 $ for each game (as a "one year rental"). I see it as better value now than before. A cheap cup of coffee (that's what one costs here anyway) to rent one of these games for a whole year

Ugh always nice seeing things turning into a console war. The funny thing is that irony is lost on most people here.
MS might be allowing a terrible practise, let's attack Sony for GT Prologue.
It may be an error, we can wait to find out, but let's attack MS anyway before finding out if it's an error or not.

Really guys?

For any MS or Sony fans thinking that the other guys are the worst, take a good look in the mirror.

Why didn't PS gamers fight back then like PC gamers? Why did they blindly follow? Why couldn't they keep it to how PS+ originally was?

Also, according to you thanks to MS, SONY is able to increase their revenue and bring them back into the black.

So shouldn't SONY and Playstation owners be thanking MS for helping them stay in business and continue to create games?

fucking EA...

EA is not a fan of equality since  their demos aren't $4.99 on the PS4!
