Forums - Nintendo - Miyamoto: Zelda U open world and Zelda 3DS

So, Zelda Wii U open world

I prefer linear Zelda 8 7.92%

I prefer open Zelda 93 92.08%

Total:101

As long as Zelda U won't be an empty game, everything will be perfectly fine!

I'm getting the next 3D zelda on 3ds!!! :D
plus.....i would be able to just.......explore.......without making story progress.

zelda U certainly is sounded pretty compelling at this point.

...off topic but i really wish nintendo would make 3DS games playable on wiiU. individually wiiU and 3DS don't have enough games to make me have to buy either. but together i think i would feel compelled.

Hope there's a lot of mini-dungeons, like in OoT (Ice Cavern, Bottom of the Well, Gerudo Training Grounds) and especially TP with all the small caves. Like the cave in Hyrule Field in Lanayru which contains an ice puzzle with blocks. Feels like Skyrim.

Yep.

I prefer whatever OOT was. The first Zelda is my favorite 2D Zelda but not knowing where to go and what to do sucks imo. It's for this reason alone that my copy of Ages for GBC is STILL unbeaten. I just can't keep my interest in a game where I spend 5 hours running around like an idiot not knowing where to go.

I would love to have multiple Cave of Ordeals-style optional dungeons. That would be very awesome. It would add an extra challenge to the game without alienating casual Zelda players.

An open world Zelda like the original is welcomed in my collection anyday! Just don't make it a sequel. I haven't played ALBW because I haven't played Link to the Past.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

You really don't have to. They are not direct sequels, and one doesn't pick up where the other left off, nor does it spoil anything of the other. You can play either game in either order.

I'd love for Nintendo to release a new handheld. 3DS is too underpowered for my tastes.

I would definitely love to see an open world Zelda.
