Is a price drop coming in 2014?

Yes 105 38.18%

No 170 61.82%

Total:275

It had a price drop. If you removed a significant component that was deemed worthless in the minds of many and reduced the price, you had a price drop. The Xbox One used to $499, now you can have one for $399.

And I can't believe people are comparing Xbox to Zune. Zune was tried and failed. It had no history and no history of success.

Xbox has been around for 13 years and quite successfully, while generating $ billions in revenue. It's going to be a very long time before MS shuts the doors on that business. And even if they give up on it, they'll sell the division to another corporation that will want to make it succeed and make money. It isn't just going to go away. If a slow start (PS3) or bleeding billions is cause for a company to shut down, Sony better start packing it up now.

No.

Maybe a Black Friday deal and a bundled game. But I don't anticipate a price cut.

Judging by their current bundle plans for Europe, I have to say no. It seems they will focus more on attractive bundles. European countries are going to get XB1 + 2 games for 399.99€. One is new (Fifa 15) the other is Forza 5. I'd say both games are close to 100€ in value so it's kind of a 100€ price drop (Fifa 15 is 70€), indirectly. Although..in EU they'll both be "new" in which case that'd make the games worth even more than 100€...
Anyway, yeah. "Free games", not price drops, this year.

Lol no, after a 100 dollar price drop to remove Kinect I doubt it this year.

Again?
No, not in 2014... maybe first half 2015.

I'd put money on another price drop before Xmas tbh.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

MS XBO wont be in same situation as Nintendo WiiU as long as 3rd parties continue to support it. At whatever point, MS has that price or releases that exclusive that galvanizes the X360 core audience into migrating up, they will start really accelerating the adoption rates.

TitanFall was pretty impactful, but it was multiplayer only and also available on PC and X360. When they have an exclusive like Halo 5 that has single player & multiplayer, and only on XBO, then more of the X360 core audience will get convinced to upgrade.

Price is and will always remain a factor, but I think at present the main issue is the reason to spend any money at all if you are totally happy with X360 or whatever other consoles you might be playing on.

"Titanfall was pretty impactful..."????  Uh, no, it wasn't.  Not even with it free in the box.

No price drop this year. Doing so now would be an incredible sign of weakness right before the big holiday sales season kicks off and before their overhyped exclusives launch. You WILL see a COD bundle, a Halo bundle, and probably a Sunset Overdrive bundle for the holidays though...and when those don't move, THEN you will see a modest ($50) price cut next winter. That's IF (and it's a big IF) the shareholders dont get impatient for SOME signs of profit from this money pit of a division.

Personally, I think it's all over except for the crying for the Xbox.

A price drop won't matter. It's already more affordable and not making a difference. The Xbox brand just is not as popular as people thought. As I said before, there is no demand for it since the PS4 has all of the advantages now.Third party games are what sold the 360, as well as the price.Hope I'm not trolling.

Sign of weakness?? What does that mean?? When Sony cut the price for the PS3 and Nintendo did for the 3ds was that also signs of weakness?

Also, check your facts before spewing nonsense. Microsft has profited off the Xbox division for the past 4 years.
