It's a great console! Even though the game might not scream "8th Gen", 1001 spikes is a great purchase!

Go on Amazon.com and get the launch games for cheap. Ryse surprised me.

Are you getting it with or without Kinect?

I would like the kinect for all those cool features I cannot figure out, but I think its the 299 version or whatever the cheapest version is. So probably not.

Cheapest is $399 but if you want to play a game its $60 more for a game.  If I were you and if you have time (which most of us dont) I would ebay or craigslist all your stuff.  You will get more $ and you can shop else where for deals.  I cant believe iam refering you too this store but Walmart has great bundle deals with Kinect. $499 you get kinect and Forza 5 with choice of 22 games including Watch DOgs, Titainfall, UFC. If you dont want Forza 5. Sell it too easy $50 Making it a kinect verision with a game for $450 or 2 games  (if you keep Forza 5) with kinect for $499.  I think walmart even does trade ins.  DOnt know the amount.  But game stop ussally gives you like 25% of the value say they sell in for $150 they give you $37.50 with this 50% more thats $56.25.  Its not 75% like most believe.  Its to get your mind made up before you go to the store and then you relize its not as much as you thought. It says 50% more.  Thats 50% more of what they were going to give you. I dont know what they normal give you for the 360 or what ever system this is just example of math so you dont get your hopes to high in the amount your getting.

Just rember if you are getting kinectless version you will be buying a game anyways and most are $60 thats $460 without kinect or $499 with kinect and 2 games.  Also quick note some Costcos still carry Titain fall bundle with kinect and Titainfall game for $475 i think. And if your trying to save $, I would try and sell them your self.  Call game stop and they will give you a quote for consoles over the phone before you go down there ask if its with 50% more too and compare to ebay (minus 10% for fees) so you know about what you would get at gamestop or ebay/craigslist.

Good luck with your choice and congrats with XBOX ONE.

Trading in the family 360, a dozen games including two copies of Ghosts and that new Halo game I only touched once. A DS with a few games as well. We still have another 360 in the basement.

Gamestop is having a trade in deal, get 50 percent more on trade ins, plus get extra for pre ordering games as well I think.

Then the huge X1 deal makes it....Common Sense...

I just hope it does not eventually distract me from my Wii U. At least now I do not have to worry about missing out.

I want the last Metal Gear game first. I rented it and had a blast on the 360.

I wish the family vote was for PS4 though. Damn us Americans and our love affair with Microsoft.....I voted PS4...

And yet the PS4 has been outselling the X1 in US.

I trust no one, not even myself.

Wow, hope you enjoy it as much as me and my family has. I am looking at buying a second one. My son wants to trade the 360 and all of the games for another XB1. He games way more than the rest of the family combined. His birthday is next week, and I have been thinking of doing it.

It is near the end of the end....

If you're into third party games and exclusives the Xbox One might distract you from the Nintendo for the first couple years. Nintendo wont have the same number of games. You'll find the second year of the Xbox will have a much greater library than Nintendo. Dragon Age Inquisition, the next Assassins Creed, Fary Cry, Witcher 3, Batman are going to ask for a lot of your time. All of those games will demand 20-100+ hours of your time each.

Hmmm......my girl friends kids seem to think its cheaper than what you say. Maybe there is still time for me to change their minds.

Dont have a link to costcos Titainfall bundle its in stores only.  Seen it a month ago for $475.

I would still get an XBOX 1 instaed of a PS4 just my preferance.

You are buying a system you don't want because of your girlfriends kids? Hopefully you guys have been going steady for a while. If not...

Anyway, all 3 consoles will offer much value eventually so good on you!

They will only get 5-10 hours from myself. No matter what. I only rent for Microsoft and Sony systems. Unless its the holidays or super cheap.

Five to ten hours is extremely unrealistic of an expectation for any of these games. You wont even finish the side quests in these games including DLC. These games easily individually go from 20-100+ hours of your time and I am not counting the multiplayer for some of them.
