Forums - Sony - Sony is in danger of becoming arrogant? Gamezone explains...

Why buy a WiiU???

That was a pointless remark at the end. There is no reason to buy a WiiU if you are not a Nintendo nostalgic fan.

Going to the point of arrogance. Yes Sony possitioned themselves as the "paladins" that would save the hardcore console market.

Did they save any thing?

I don´t think so. Traditional consoles are dying. After the initial sucess the PS4 sales are stalling more that one would expect.

It´s not even a matter of more or less games. Their arrogance has not move one extra console or one extra smartphone.

The PS4 is still comfortably ahead of the PS3, both in lifetime and weekly sales. Also what the heck is that bolded sentence supposed to mean?

I dont care about the MS vs Sony debate. Im just saying the MCC is the better buy for someone whos unbiased towards both games. If you dont see that, then I sure as hell wont convince you...

What does "being unbiased towards the games" have to do it? If one's appreciation for the games doesn't matter than nothing matters other than your 4>1 idea. And by that logic, we'd get the following:

- a collection of the 4 worse games ever made would be better value than TLOU HD or Halo Anniversary

- the cheapest console would always be the best. cause it's cheaper. Wii U automatically confirmed the best no matter what. Or..#2, because Ouya.

- tablets and phones superior to consoles because they have 100000000000000 games, next gen consoles trailing way behind. (PC would be ahead too)

edit: and there you guy, saying "no reason to buy ps4 unless you like having no games to play". You're being biased.

Well theres no reason to buy a PS4 yet, unless you love having no games to play...

...of course...

Oh here we go. Sony doing well mean they are arrogant? It isn't their problem the other two fools are floundering about still trying to find their consoles identity.

It's more that Sony has shifted strategy when they changed focus from the PS3 to the PS4. When the PS3 was out, Sony's 1st parties churned out exclusive after exclusive. Now with the PS4, Sony is playing the market like chess. With the indies and superior multiplats on their side, Sony is using those to their advantage while keeping their 1st parties for later. For instance, why would they release The Order in the midst of COD: Advanced Warfare, Far Cry 4, Sniper, and Destiny? It would be suicide. Instead, they play it smart (business-wise) by having exclusive advertising rights to Destiny and releasing a PS4 bundle.

I would say, though, that Sony is getting a bit overconfident. Their strategy is good business-wise, but not necessarily good for the gamers.

Yes it is because the fact that TLOU is 1 year old actually increases its value, it doesn't diminish it. And that's being objective. TLOU is more expensive than any of the Halo games because the Halo games are older. TLOU+DLC costs as much as buying the 4 Halo games separately. Same reason why GOTY editions get released at full price. The original release is "fairly recent" and the games are still being sold at a medium-high price. Though those don't even improve the visuals (understandable because it's usually the same platform). So both releases are in a similar situation and it's up to each person to decide which one they want/like more.

I disagree. If you say TLOU Remastered is the better value, then you are biased towards TLOU or against Halo. If you love or dont like both franchises, then you can clearly see that the MC Collection is the better buy. Its 1 game vs 4.

I didn't say it's better value, I said it's mostly the same thing. Being that "mostly" is variable according to people's preference

1 game vs 4 doesn't mean anything. Is MS releasing a collection of 4 2013 games? No. It's older, cheaper games. Sony released 4 remastered god of war games for the same price as MCC too. Let's not pretend MS would do anything differently. If Halo 5 had released in 2013 for the 360 and they were porting it now to XB1 they'd release it at 50-60 bucks. No doubt about that. No offense but people are just moving goal posts around to attack Sony because of their current leadership position. One can easily make other jabs such as releasing Wind Waker HD at full price even though it was still 30fps like the gamecube version...but people don't want to talk about that, do they?

And of course, let's forget that Sony keeps giving free DLC content for Shadow Fall, is going to release its Co-op as standalone (just 10 bucks) so people don't have to buy the game to play it, same for Infamous DLC. On top of what I already said about PS+. Yeah, damn Sony, not doing anything right /sarcasm.

"Let's not pretend MS would do anything differently. If Halo 5 had released in 2013 for the 360 and they were porting it now to XB1 they'd release it at 50-60 bucks. No doubt about that."

Your right no need to pretend because MS is actually doing right by its fans. This ain't no rush job, this was planned in advance. Sorry but resorting to MS being the big, bad corporation is holding less and less with Phil Spencer at the helm.People don't talk about WInd Waker because they aren't part of the PS/Xbox rivalry....duh.

This aint 4 lazy ports. Two are remastered, all MP is pooled into 1 experience, all DLC, curated playlists, Halo 2 cutscenes are now pure CGI, a live action feature, and the Halo 5 beta. Just saying in this particular instance, MS "out valued" Sony with their remasters.

Bet your mind now is like "Does not compute" :P

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Apparently you can't handle it, because I'm still waiting for it. You're gonna keep me waiting because there isn't one, right?

So instead of putting all that effort into Halo 5 or something other than yet another Halo game, wasting it on a remaster of XB and 360 games is doing right by its fans? ND is doing TLOU as a side thing while making Uncharted 4 AND a new IP. How it should be. Secondary project for those that want it, nothing major.I thought ports were a bad thing and people bought next gen consoles for next gen games.... guess I was wrong. Them goal posts.

edit: and having to pay for a beta is now a "pro" huh? ok. At least Destiny's Alpha was free.
