as long as they(or part of them) keep doing great games like zelda, its fine.
Hmm that should be interesting although I hope its for the better and not for the worse

They waited far too long for this, but better late than never. Still, it's a smart move so I'm optimistic for their future.
The annual breefing will setlle everything
"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

If they really want to get ahead Sony and Microsoft with the next console, they should really revive the third party development on their console.
Most Japanese video game companies have side businesses which keep them generally solvent even when they don't appear to be releasing much at times when more prolific Western companies are struggling.. Konami has health clubs, slot machines, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Namco Bandai has toys, anime, and amusement parks. Square Enix has a sizable toy division. Sega Sammy has anime, slot machines and arcades in Japan. All of them, including Nintendo, have comic divisions.

And with gameplay that you CANNOT IMAGINE. Because there is probably nowhere to go.
But fear not, gameplay is already proving to be a meddling aspect of the glorious medium known as GAMING. Industry leading graphics will surely save this industry from collapsing into its own brown hole.

Though I do think in this case Nintendo is aiming bigger if they want to consider it a pillar(s) among their console and handheld market, but you bring up a good point.

Do you really think the PS4 and Xbone will be their lead consoles for 7 years? The PS5 and Xbtwo will be out by the end of 2018.
