Forums - Sony Discussion - Square Enix Pledges to Support Vita With More Games

I thought it wasn't up to 3rd parties to support a console. But I'm sure that despite this news decisions like Ubis towards Nintendo will continue to be defended by the 3rd party lovers as if there were no other option and it made perfect sense.

Less resentful part of post starts here -> Good news for the Vita.

They aren't directly comparable situations. Both the Vita and WiiU being neglected by 3rd parties makes sense, neither is generally worth the effort compared to other products available. They do, however, both have a "niche" audience, for the Vita it's JRPG fans and for the WiiU it's Nintendo's core fanbase.

I doubt we will see SE build games from the ground up for the Vita, but FFXHD likely showed them the sales potential for JRPGs on the system. SE have an awful lot of suitable games that could be easily ported to the Vita, the majority of which will likely sell quite a lot. It makes sense they'd support it to that extent.

True, but a company actually saying they're going put games on Vita isn't a bad thing.

I'd like to hear Sony say the same thing. :-p

Empty talk is a toxic thing.  That's why I'm pretty much show me the goods or bust.

Even if  Sony said they were bringing games to Vita I wouldn't believe them.  I know what happens when waiting for greatness.

I still feel a statement about bringing games to Vita is better than nothing.

If they don't, oh well.
