Less resentful part of post starts here -> Good news for the Vita.

They aren't directly comparable situations. Both the Vita and WiiU being neglected by 3rd parties makes sense, neither is generally worth the effort compared to other products available. They do, however, both have a "niche" audience, for the Vita it's JRPG fans and for the WiiU it's Nintendo's core fanbase.

I doubt we will see SE build games from the ground up for the Vita, but FFXHD likely showed them the sales potential for JRPGs on the system. SE have an awful lot of suitable games that could be easily ported to the Vita, the majority of which will likely sell quite a lot. It makes sense they'd support it to that extent.
