So whats the point of this thread if you didn't want to get the full facts? Seems like you were just BSing with the Halo side. Which shows an agenda.

oh jesus did you read the beginning and end?  I'm not trashing Halo collection for Christ's sake!  Let's just say at this point that those DLCs would cost an extra $20?  Is that fair or is it all part of my secret agenda?  Keep in mind in Goty edition the DLCs are normally discounted very much.

Cut it out both of you or I will spank you both to banville!

I think it's fair to say this thread has gone in the complete opposite direction of my original intention (as shown in the OP).  I was merely defending my intentions.  Shouldn't be treated the same as the accusor who began this sidetrack.

You can't even compare the two, since the Value in MCC is so far above any collection I've ever seen. You not only get the main games in perhaps the best game series of all time, but also online multiplayer for all of them, remastered graphics, all dlc, halo 5 beta and the series. TLOU doesn't even come within the same stratosphere in my view.

How about Ratchet Jak and Sly collections?  3 games remastered in 1080p 60fps for $40 (Ratchet may have been 30 actually)?  similar value I'd say.  Also Ratchet 3 MP.

serious question?

mcc is incredible great value
tlou remake ist just a remake.

From a content stand point, halo is worth more. But TLOU is newer, which means that the hours of content would be worth more. From a value standpoint, I'd say they're close to equal. If I had to say one, I'd probably say that Halo is probably more.

I belive that when most people talk value, they don't talk about what one game is priced on PS compared to what the other game is priced on Xbox, I think they talk about the amount of playtime you'll get out of the game. If we go by that definition of value then Halo: MCC wins (I assume, since it's four games vs one).

Then why don't the 3 or 2 game collections on PS3 that were 1080p 60fps for all the games get as much praise for their value as MCC?  Ratchet 1,2,and 3 with 3's multiplayer (since people are making such a big deal about Halo 2 MP) for $40.  Yet no one brought that up as some amazing example of value.  Maybe Sony should have made a big part of their press conference about it.

I own all the three PS3 HD collections you mentioned in the OP, and I agree that they are great value. For me R&C collection > Halo MCC, but Halo has a larger fanbase, and therefore it gets more attention. However, the example in the OP is TLOU vs Halo MCC, and I just think Halo has more content than TLOU.

Halo 2 multiplayer map pack costs $30 on Amazon used, $60 brand new. All Halo 3 maps would be $10 with Halo 3 ODST. Took 2 minutes to look up.

this makes a remake less valueable.

the gap between the improved quality is so much lower

halo 2 = original xbox game = now on xbox one 2 generations later

the last of us = best looking ps3 game = no slightly better on ps4

well I should hope they would discount that in a collection lol.  It costs more than any of the games do?  I wouldn't call that being generous or a great value.  Just fair.  I don't care how much you love Halo 2 (love the SP personally but never played much online) but it's almost a requirement to throw that kinda stuff in for free or a severe discount.  Comparable value as I said in my OP.  Both are great and people should stop ripping on remasters was my whole point (coming from a guy who has GoW Saga, MGS3 HD, Ratchet HD Trilogy, Jak HD trilogy, Wind Waker HD, Sly HD trilogy, and is going to buy tLoU remastered and will definitely pick up Halo MCC if I ever buy a One).

a very reasonable response.  As I said in the OP the point was to draw out the values and show that the gaming value is similar and people should stop ragging on one and not the other as cash-ins

But those doesn't compare to the quality and scale of the Halo franchise. I'm not saying it will not be f great value for some people, but most would agree MCC trumps almost everything the two other can release, specially when you look at how much effort that has gone into this collection. Value is rarely about aount of games, but rather perceived value as to te place the game has in gaming history. Look at it this way: I have Panzer Dragon Saga on Sega Saturn, a game that released in a small quantity and has grown to cult status. You can buy it for something like 150$ on EBay. That isn't the actual value for the game, but rather for the perceived value, that you get something unique, one of a kind.

Same goes for MCC. It will be the first anyone can play Halo CE with online mp, or Halo 2 with remastered graphics for an10 year old game. Also, this is the game that has made a historic imprint on our society, even my mother knows about Halo, only Mario, Sonic or Zelda can compete with that :). That is why the value of this collection shouldn't be compared to TLOU, since it actually does TLOU injustice when it cannot measure up to MCC. That doesn't make it a bad remake though.
