Forums - Nintendo - Will Smash stabilise Wii U sales?

I honestly think it will. Mario Kart has already done most of the work. By the time Smash comes out the Wii U will be doing 30k per region and 90k globally.

Thoughts?

Maybe. I dont know anymore...

Yeah, I'm sure the Wii U will triple it's weekly sales in japan by the time Smash comes around...

Also did I miss the week when the Wii U didn't drop after MK8?

It's already at around 70k, though. I don't see any of the other upcoming games stabilizing it at 90k.

Well Smash will be in the holidays, so no. When January comes it might settle at a higher baseline but not anywhere near 90k (unless they do a dramatic price drop)

As for Mario Kart, it'll be averaging 50k a week WW going into July.

I think so

Switch!!!

70,000 in one bad week, and more of 100,000 in a good week.

Nothing will. It will only get boosts for a few weeks after the games are released and then it's back to 30k town.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'd say 55-60K baseline in 2015.

well... if they keep the info the way it is... it is very hard to say. It annoys me right now how they have not been showing what each version has compared to the other. Instead it is here is what the Wii U lacks compared to the 3DS version. People would just buy the 3DS version and skip the Wii U making the Wii U version not have much of an effect.
