Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies and the Professor Layton games are pretty good but you might want to try them out first before you buy them

I've never played them but there's Bravely Default and Monster Hunter.

Kingdom Hearts 3D (then again, if you've never played any of the others, it might be just a little confusing. They do supply little journal thingies that explain what happened in each game, though)
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a game you can sink lots of hours into
Shin Megami Tensei IV is pretty good and there are constantly sales on the game
Super Street Fighter IV is a decent 2D Fighter, and Dead or Alive: Dimensions is a pretty good 3D Fighter
If you've never played it, Tales of the Abyss is a pretty good game (the original was on PS2). It's an action JRPG, I suppose. It probably takes around 80 hours to complete.

Oh, didn't know you had a Wii U.

Well, if you're into it... Rune Factory 4 is another game you can try.  It's kind of like an action RPG version of Harvest Moon.

Though I haven't played it, Shin Megami Tensei: Soul Hackers is also a game you could get.

If you like Final Fantasy music and rhythm games, Final Fantasy Theatrhythm could be a game to get.  However, I personally would hold off until Curtain Call gets released (it's coming out this year) since it will have MANY more songs available and more modes.

Resident Evil: Revelations
Cave Story 3D
Bit Trip Saga
Heroes Of Ruin

I really like Etrian Odyssey. There's a remake of the original one and EO4 for 3DS

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

Project X Zone, which to me has been very addicting.
Batman:Arkham Origins Blackgate, very neat side game to the arkham series.
Sonic Lost World
Sonic Generations
