The game that was supposed to bring the Persona series to the 3DS and greater Nintendo community only did .19million in Japan opening.

While its too early to call it a flop, and I don't expect it will I doubt it'll be succesful enough to be a factor in porting P5 to the 3DS.

But I'm jumping the gun, what do you think?

Persona Q is an Etrian Odyssey game in everything but name (there might be a few mechanics not in Etrian Odyssey but you get the point).

Also .19m in the first week? that isn't bad at all, much better than Etrian Odyssey and Persona isn't some million seller

It's actually pretty good, considering #2 sold over 100k less.

I think it did fine when you compare it to Persona 4 in Japan, which has lifetime sales at around 360k. Persona is a good series but it isn't DQ or Pokemon so the numbers are more modest. The problem is how well Persona Q fares in the West since Dungeon Crawlers aren't popular around these parts.

Anyways, I'll be getting the game Day 1 once it releases stateside.

It was a Persona spin off... Which in itself is just a spin off. Its basically just a reskinned Etrian Odyssey, it was never going to push the numbers some people thought it would.
Also, P5 was never going to hit 3DS XD

190k for Persona is good. I wonder if Vita will ever get an exclusive Persona so we can compare sales.

We need to talk about this? No we don't, it sold a pretty good amount, considering how it was the first Persona game on a Nintendo system, and it looks like it bumped hardware a bit as well for launch of the game. I think it was a good success.
