I feel like Nintendo gave the Green Shell some type of super honing device in MK8 because I always get it by at least two per race. In prior Mario Kart games the Green Shell was nothing but a fart in the wind.

I despise you, Green Shell.

I've only played each cup maybe 5 times each with family locally so far, but have to get Boomerang, Lighnting, Crazy 8, Blue Shell or a Bullet Bill.

I can't wait till I start playing online, cause I know the others in teh world will be better competition so I can be in like crappier position and thus get those items and see how fun they are or not.

Yeah, I still haven't played online either.

I've also never gotten the star as a stand-alone item, only with the crazy 8.

Yea nothing more rage worthy than being in first and having a super horn and getting lightninged.  

But at same point, I don't EVER get passed when someone uses lightning.  So I usually don't mind it.

Lightning, especially annoying when I'm in the middle of a jump, lose all momentum and then fail to make the jump. It seems to always wait for me to be in the air gliding over a pit.

the red shell they are all waiting to hit me just a second before a cross the finish line.... last night I got it by 2 in a row and just managed to win as Peach pushed me from the back.
