as an owner of both, I definitely recommend Fire Emblem.

The support between Chrom and Sumia is amazing XD

I'm one of those that tried to get every support conversation possible.  Meaning lots of resets and save files to have people marry lots and lots of people.

Didn't bother with children though, caue they seemed to be the same.

From what I'm getting at, it seems Bravely Default makes you do the same things over again, while in Fire Emblem you do that to yourself.

In my 4 save files, I got most of the supports overall, but I did miss a few romantic ones. Chrom x Sumia just happened to be one of them :(

• Sumia: Do you want more pies? Because I'll bake until my hands fall off!
• Chrom: P-pies? No, er, what I'm trying to say is... I'm thinking of the rest of our lives and...
• Sumia: You want pies every day until you die? Well, that's a tall order, but if you—
• Chrom: This is not about pies! Just listen!
• ...
• Chrom: Then our future is sure to be filled with happiness and pies, both!
• Sumia: Oh, yes! We shall have pies morning, noon, and night! ...Er, but would you mind terribly if we hired a cook?

Yep I got Fire Emblem, I actaully had BD lined up cause it was winning at first. Should arrive sometime next week :P

Not sure if we're talking about the same thing, but the Valm story arc was probably my favorite part of the game. Some of the chapters after that were a bit less interesting, but it still wrapped everything up nicely I thought. Bravely Default had a great story (albeit a few plot holes that annoyed me), but the boss gauntlet that was Chapter 5-8 really killed the pacing for me. 

And of course, that one scene with Tiz after the credits. I was gonna get the sequel anyway...but geez. I hate loose ends.

Both still awesome games though. OP would have been happy either way I'm sure.
