Not that I'm defending them but they are paid to critique things.

False.  They are paid to get views and clicks on their site.  They are the media.  We would all hope these guys would have some respect for themselves and the industry, but of course their job is to get as many views and looks as possible.

Well that's a pretty pessimistic way of putting it. They're actually there to give unbiased opinions about games to help us make better decisions for ourselves.

Scoop!

I love gamescoop and greg miller (psn editor with ign who is on scoop) loves both brawl and mario kart.

For those who don't know, scoop is made up of members who cover each console. So there is often a nintendo, xbox, and psn guy. I haven't heard ep 69 yet, but chances are the guy was either the host (neutral party) or the xbox team.

Also, the wii crew loves both brawl and kart. They have said they don't think brawl is the best game on the console but it's sure to score in the low to mid 9s.

People need to understand that the podcast has multiple view points cause the editors cover different consoles.

Learn more before you aimless hate on the ign crew.

Scoop!

QFT, people hate on IGN, but the scoop podcasts are made up of one memeber of each console and the host, the Nintendo editor on the cast is Craig the DS reviewer so he usually doesn't do much with the console, so you can see anything on the console side of things as far as Wii goes is going to be mostly one sided, usually the Xbox or Sony team jump on the first thing they can when looking at Nintendo games.

And for confusion about the Brawl podcast, they love brawl, the brawl poscast only had one Nintendo Editior cause the other was out sick, so you had past editiors which they have nothing to do with the review, even remotely to the review, and don't reflect what Bozon and Matt (the real editiors) think of the game.

Of course I was just adding in my two cents, as people like to bash IGN based on misinformation.

that wasnt nice!!

Well, I'm not a programmer, but I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that the game may have to render up to 4 camera views (for splitscreen, obviously) limits how pretty you can make everything look.

It won't bother me. I'm usually just looking for nice art direction, a good framerate and clean looks. I'm more concerned about the gameplay.

I wish you guys would stop attacking every single person that criticizes anything related to Nintendo.  Most likely Mario Kart on the Wii won't look much better than a gamecube game, which is the case with every game so far.  Let them criticize.  If you don't agree, so what?  I listen to Wiik in review as well and those guys usually hype up Nintendo games.  I don't always agree with ign or 1up podcasts but they are entertaining and informative.

SMG and Brawl are much better than any GC game I've ever seen.

It's UNFAIR criticism though...in the case of Brawl anyway, I haven't heard Mario Kart's.  They bashed the game without playing it all, and the point is they clearly didn't know what they were talking about..saying how they didn't "wavedash" and stuff because they didn't want to..besides the fact that A) they probably couldn't wavedash if they tried, and especially because B) you can't wavedash in Brawl.

The point is, this wiiks in review are done by a group that apparently doesn't know the most about their games and their audience.  Yeah, you can talk Mario Kart down and you can review Mario Kart down...but Mario Kart fans would like to hear something other than "graphics suck."  Mario Kart fans aren't huge on the graphics anyway...DD wasn't anything "revolutionary."

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I'm a huge Mario Kart fan and I'd like it to look better than DD. DD looked better than Mario Kart 64. The clips I've seen of Brawl do not look that good. However, I've only seem them on Xplay recently so those clips might not be representative of the final game...except I believe it was...but whatever. People hyped Galaxy's graphics even though it was only marginally better than sunshine (see gametrailers video comparison), so I'm not surprised when people hype up the graphics of any Nintendo game. The last Wiik in Review I listened to (i'm currently behind), they commented that the single player adventure portion was not that fun, but that the multiplayer was awesome. I'm not sure what they've said since, but the guy that commented said his opinion wasn't final because he hadn't completed it yet. That's a completely fair criticism. Just because they don't like certain aspects doesn't mean they don't like the game. However, if they don't like the game just state why you disagree. Why attack them and say they have no credibility? Oh, because they aren't hopeless Nintendo fanboys...I forgot. This crap happens every time 1up or ign says in a podcast they don't like any aspect of any Nintendo game. Edit: Just look at the title of the thread. It contains a needless exclamaton point as if this is such a big deal. Who cares if they aren't slurping the same stuff some of you are...the game isn't going to be any worse because of it.
