I hope you don't seriously think that Microsoft would spend 90% of their expendable finances on what is essencially a small fraction of their overall company. This is why it's stupid when anyone thinks Sony will ever buy anything major gaming related. Playstation is a fraction of their overall failing business, and Playstation was causing then massive losses for years already. They aren't going to start buying large 3rd party game companies when they just got out of a pile of shit, but are still in the gutter. They're gonna wash off first. These guys have an entire company of divisions to take care of, and gaming it not on the top of either list.

You do know Sony bought that cloud gaming service for over 300M dollars?

Yes. But it's not like 300M is the most they would ever spend and Capcom is not not worth much more than that. Anyways all this will never happen as those companies are good becuase they're 3rd party.

It would take Sony around US$700m to own 51% of Capcom. Sony is not nearly in the place where it can spend that kind of money. And it doesn't matter if they are 3rd party. Buyouts can and do happen. They just won't with Sony anytime soon, because Sony isn't run by idiots who think they can afford that kind of investment with minimal benefit (because they already gets most Capcom games) on a fraction of their overall company that lost them money for seven straight years and has only just started to show it's potencial to provide profit again.

well, not insignificant, but sales wise, and if we look at number of MASSIVE franchises then Ubisoft or EA or Activision completely overshadows SEGA. Besides, alot of SEGA's games are ninty exclusives already.

1.4B.... yah it is worth "much more than that"; company values (or mark. cap) are not based on what random "gamers" think of them you know :)

Now for the hypothtical OP question:

Sony: Square (relationship)
Nintendo: Sega
Microsoft: Activision or at least Blizzard :) (because I love them!)
