Forums - Gaming - If Sony/MS/Nintendo Had Each Exclusively Aquired 1 Major Third Party Each, What Would They Be???

Microsoft : Take Two
Sony : EA
Nintendo : Capcom or Namco

Ok, well I would want them to aquire studios that would flesh out the weaker parts of their first party studios.

Microsoft- the weakest part about microsofts first party is their lack of any japanese development. I actually think Capcom would do the most good here. They have the game that makes japanese people froth at the mouth with monster hunter, as well as a ton of other ip's that can appeal to the world over.

Nintendo- Nintendo seems to struggle with some of the more mature genre's like fps. I think that ubisoft would be the best compiment to Nintendo. They would bring the mature tom clancy franchise to Nintendo, as well as other that would appeal to the established nintendo crowd like rayman or beyond good and evil.

Sony- sony is a hard one, not many weak points. I would probably say sega would bring the most to sony. Classic franchises like sonic (if actually done right) could shore up some of the family titles they are missing. Sega also has some awesome ip's in strategy games (shining force, valkyria), rpg (skies of arkadia), shooters (yakuza)? Etc. that could compliment sonys lineup...

Sony - SquareEnix
Micro - Bungie...again, lol
Ninty - Capcom...lock down MH

Thanks jlmurph!

Activision and EA are way too expensive to be bought out like that lol.

By Sony or Nintendo maybe but Microsoft has enough cash $88 billion to buy Activision, EA, Ubisoft, TakeTwo, Sega, Konami, Capcom and Square Enix at double there current market cap and still have $4 billion left.

That's not how business works. It's not like a vault they can spend from or a wallet like you and me do.

All 3 would kill for EA. Having all the sports games exclusive...

True, but you said they were too expensive to be bought, which isnt true.  They could be bought, they just arent for sell...  This is all hypothetical nonsense anyway, you guys are taking it too seriously!

I hope you don't seriously think that Microsoft would spend 90% of their expendable finances on what is essencially a small fraction of their overall company. This is why it's stupid when anyone thinks Sony will ever buy anything major gaming related. Playstation is a fraction of their overall failing business, and Playstation was causing then massive losses for years already. They aren't going to start buying large 3rd party game companies when they just got out of a pile of shit, but are still in the gutter. They're gonna wash off first. These guys have an entire company of divisions to take care of, and gaming it not on the top of either list.
