It would take Sony around US$700m to own 51% of Capcom. Sony is not nearly in the place where it can spend that kind of money. And it doesn't matter if they are 3rd party. Buyouts can and do happen. They just won't with Sony anytime soon, because Sony isn't run by idiots who think they can afford that kind of investment with minimal benefit (because they already gets most Capcom games) on a fraction of their overall company that lost them money for seven straight years and has only just started to show it's potencial to provide profit again.
