Forums - Nintendo - Ocarina of Time vs Majora's Mask

Which one is the best?

Ocarina of Time 56 50.45%

Majora's Mask 55 49.55%

Total:111

I'm doing this one because It'll probably be closer than OOT vs TP, so... That's it.

Mine is Majora's Mask. While the game isn't as long, I prefered the parts between dungeons (Except the Great Bay) over the ones in OOT, and I prefer the dungeon-design itself a lot more.

Plus, the bosses are miles better than Ocarina of Time (With the exception of Ganon/dorf) IMO.

Ocarina Of Time cause although I loved Majoras Mask, its just one of those, you play OOT and its all downhill from there! Not to say other Zelda games were bad or anything, far from it infact! But there was something about OOT that made my head explode with Jizz!

OOT
They both are masterpieces though.

OOT broke so many boundries in gaming it seemed to have it all. It felt endless it felt vast and limitless. but as soon as the newness to 3d wore off the zelda games were nothing special anymore in MM it seems like i have already seen this before. the bosses to me were vey bland as were the dungeons. but thats was not the fun part to MM the fun of that game was the side stuff. it really brought alot more personalization into the zelda characters instead of just being objects used to get something.

OOT had better music. but MM had the upper hand in graphics.

its where one falls off the other strikes back.

Like the person above me said if you played OOT back in 98 it just seems like a downward slope from there.

OOT. While MM was a great game in its own right, it felt like more of an expansion pack than a full fledged Zelda game.

Today, MM would be DLC for OOT.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Majora's Mask. The most interestingly unique Zelda to date.

Majora's Mask, it took some of the themes OoT brought to the table and made them better while adding new ones. The world felt more diverse lively and engrossing. The dungeons while less numerous were superior. Finally it was such a unique game in the series that hasnt been bested. Oot on the other hand was a standard.

Majora's Mask is not only better, it's the best in the series.

And if you say otherwise, I'll summon the moon.

Majora's Mask, by far. One of the best atmospheres in a game. Sure, there are not as many dungeons, but the ones present--such as Snowhead, Great Bay, Ikana, Stone Tower--are some of the best in the series. Moreover, the transitions between dungeons and plot points are much more interesting in MM. I find the beginning of OOT (prior to Adult Link) to be such a chore due to the dialogue, interruptions, backtracking.

Also, the story in MM is much more unique, emotional, and creative than OOT (a bland story. Could have been much more). I actually feel something with the characters in MM due to their reactions to the near-doomed world.

I also enjoy the music in MM much more. It has a sinister and creative feel to it. The moving songs (Astral Observatory, Song of Healing) are better, too.

I grew up with OOT, but it has been surpassed (see above)

Hi

Both are great games and unique in their own way, but if I had to choose, I'd go with Ocarina of Time.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
