Do you think Nintendo's next handheld and console will have fresh names? Not like Nintendo DS-Nintendo 3DS or Wii-Wii U something totally new?

Yes.

And I wouldn't be surprised if they were one in the same.

Handheld? I'm thinking might keep some 2DS type name. Maybe just keep it going and say 4DS, regardless of how much sense that makes. Unless of course they do something so drastically different than the two screens.

Console. For sure a new name. I think they learned big time that a name can be confusing to many people and they tried to hard to be clever with names with consoles that I can see them just starting fresh and being LIke this is Nintendo or something.

I hope they don't use "Wii" again. I was really pissed off when I figured out the name of the Wii U!

I'd be fine with anything besides 4DS for the next handheld.

they should try again with Wii 2.

Trouble with that is, I think that people are finally starting to see the Wii U as the Wii 2.  Thus if they name next one Wii 2.  People might just think they renamed the Wii U to Wii 2.

They can't really stop calling it a DS. The home console definitely will though, and it will probably share a common name with the DS ala Fusion DS and Fusion Terminal

I'm hoping there's not a console or handheld, but a single combination of both. This idea is way past due.

Why cant they stop calling it DS? 

The gameboy was a huge name back then and then the DS came out of nowhere and outsould every gameboy.
