Yeah, Generations was shit, so I hope they don't go back to that. Adventures was worse. Colors was just as bad as Generations. Lost World was the best 3D Sonic, and that isn't saying much because it lost all sense of speed and most importantly momentum.

That's exactly the problem SEGA created. There's too much different opinions on Sonic. I loved Generations for example. They have to settle on something, and to be honest, I think that a heap of Sonic fans can agree that Generations was at least a good Sonic game. (At least the gameplay, the story is something else..) Not everyone can accept Sonic, that's the thing SEGA doesn't understand, and that's why they keep on making way different games all the time.

It really makes little sense. That game got good critical reception AND good sales. Spemanig doesnt like it and thats fine he's in the minoritiy. Sega needs to go with the majority on this one. Look how poor LW sold.

More Generations please. It sold well and it got good critical reception. I guess this is smart. They can have their more classic style Sonic and they can also keep doing their weird experiments. Looking at you Lost World and Unleased damn you guys sucked.

Unleashed had awesome day stages though! :P And your opinion is like the polar oppisite of Spemanig's opinion. Just as I said before: there's too many opinions on Sonic.

That's not the game's problem per se but it's something to look on, yeah.

This is true buy my opinion lines up with most people's opinion. Not that that means much but as i said its time to go with the majority. Unleashed had great day stages...too bad that accounted for about 35% of the game.

I agree! Sonic Generations was fun as hell and I wouldn't mind if future Sonic games would follow that formula!

Lost World epoch is definitely the way to go here: no more 3D auto-run.

Unless they bring back Adventure/Heroes/Shadow-style. That worked the best of any of them. But i sincerely doubt they're going to do that.

Oh well. They did a lot right with Lost World that got buried under some head-scratcher gameplay-design choices, most of which were ironed out in a patch but after the damage was already done in reviews.

Yep. I hope SEGA got it right this time! I'm wondering what's going to happen to older Sonic projects. What about the third Sonic Book game? (I heard years ago that there was going to be a sequel to Black Knight) And what about Sonic 4 Episode III?

Heroes is one of the most underrated Sonic games. Everything's pretty much solid in that game, though it also has its fair share of issues.
