I would have preferred 720p/60FPS or 900p/60FPS, but it is their call to make.

Not really.. its not exactly a per-pixel shooter, and 30 FPS is more then enough IMO. 1080p will make everything look cristal clear.

IMO 60 fps is slightly overrated. Most genres dont benefit at all from it. Brawlers, racers, some  platformers and hack&slashers, and even some shooters do, but the rest... nope.

I will sacrifice some visual fidelity for a higher framerate every day. I have played enough FPS games at 30FPS and 60FPS to notice how much each makes a difference to the actual gameplay. All online MP FPS at the very least should be locked in at 60FPS. Period.

SP can be 30FPS if they want where they blow the visuals up the backside to make it look nicer, but competitive MP should ALWAYS have 60FPS.

why is everyone focusing on xbone and forgetting all about the real evil here....

...fuck ps360. cross-gen FTL.

Last Gen is practically irrelevant to Console Wars...at least if your winning.

i'm not talking console wars though.  i'm saying being cross gen did more to hold back the ps4graphics than xbox one.

IMO this game doesnt looks all that twitch-based competitive. Its not CoD, its more akin to Borderlands when it comes to the shooter element. I think the game will come out just fine if there are no dips

This is what Bungie meant when they said they've been able to get the XB1 version running at 1080p, They've dropped the framerates on BOTH versions.

Two words: Parity Clause.

There's a parity clause? Strange why are a good amount of PS4 games above the X1 version then if that's true?

Two words: Parity Clause.

If there is a parity clause, why is Bungie subjected to it and not other 3rd parties?

MS parity clause says that a game has to:

- If launching at the same time than other consoles, it has to have the same content (not applied to exclusive DLC).

- If launching later on XB consoles, it has to include some new aditional content.

The clause demands that the content in the game is the same, but it isn't about visuals. Destiny couldn't be launched with an exclusive mode on PS4, as an example. Graphics aren't covered by it, if it was the case CoD Ghosts, BF4, AC4 and other games couldn't be launched like they were.

Examples of the parity clause on use is The Witcher 2. To launch on 360 they did the Enhanced Edition with extra content. This clause actually doesn't damages Sony or Nintendo, but only MS. The avalanche of indies on PS4 isn't just because of Sony's efforts, but because most indies launch on PC first and smaller devs fears that they could overlook any funcionality (or simply break it), launch the game and get in trouble with MS.

FWIW, Destiny is getting exclusive PS4 content:

- Multiplayer Map
- Strike Mission
- 3 sets of armor
- 2 Weapons
- 3 Spacecraft

And it will probably come as a code inside the retail box to redeem and download the content. Despite that, Sony surely made a sweet deal, I knew it had exclusive content, but it's more than I imagined.

They could have done 1080p/60fps on PS4 but because they didn't want to hurt the xbone fans ego they went with the same specs.

Well that's just BS, X1 holding back the PS4 is annoying. I know how PC gamers feel now being held back by consoles for so many years -.-

Destiny-related threads tend to make people salty for some reason :P

It doesn't matter if their is a parity clause or not.

The PS4 and XB1 are not and never will be at parity, the descrepancy is in hardware.

Thus any parity between the versions is false, XB1 should always have the worst version of the two. Else they are not working equally on both versions. If they have both versions at 1080p 30 fps and they want to keep both versions at the same framerate, PS4 should be locked.

Developers should also have their own "parity clause" so they don't have to downgrade games for inferior hardware. If Destiny can run 1080p even on Xbone, it should be able to run 60fps on PS4 without any trouble.

wut? so the PS4 can double it over the Xbox One now?

ahah come on, I believe you should take the time to think before to post that kind of non sense :)

Ever heard of "trolling"? I hear it's all the rage now.
