it cannot be given to MS or EA the games will be gone and a waste.

Nintendo seriously HAS to have at least 4 of the ips......

including Monster Hunter.

Monster Hunter, Mega Man, and Ace Attorney is all I'm thinking of, and for good reasons.

MH is doing exceptionally well on the 3DS plus MH4 U comes out in 2015.

They are working on Dai Gyakuten Saiban for the 3DS, so we need that one.

And Mega man is in Smash, we need him in smash.

Everytime one of these threads happen everyone starts assuming Nintendo is going to buy them. I doubt the company is ready to drop billions for Capcom in their current state.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I think people are focusing on the IPs that are regular on Nintendo. It's not the MH's and Mega Man's that make Nintendo need this. It's the Resi's, the Street Fighter's, the DMCs. Things no one thinks about in association with Nintendo. That's where Nintendo would benefit most.

This could be terrible or great. It depends on the buyer. Nintendo may not be the best. They may turn Street Fighter 5 into Street Fighter Baby Brawl! Street Fighter VS Nintendogs! Megaman in Happyland! I shudder to think.

I think spemanig signature fits quite well:

"Critics who treat adult as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence." - C.S. Lewis

I would advise you to grow out of cliché.

It will probably be an outside company trying to get into gaming. Would be surprised if either Nintendo or MS make the purchase.

The talented developers have left. Nintendo will not buy.

We aren't saying they will. They should. And Capcom is not worth "billions." Not when last year they where worth less than 200m.

Microsoft is probably the only one with means to do so, and even though most of their games have been sucking lately, this would be a huge win for any of the three console publishers.

Sure, there's Street Fighter, Resident Evil, etc, but they'd also be getting a huge catalog of other great IPs like Devil May Cry, Breath of Fire, Final Fight, etc.

I've always thought that the way to make Yakuza popular in western territories is to make a western Yakuza. Final Fight with a good story tacked to it, open world, and Yakuza gameplay, Sega could add a demo of the most recent Yakuza game on each disc, so the people play it see that it has similar gameplay with a Japanese story. Might do well to push sales.

Let me get this right, Capcom opened up shares to get more money and people read that as they're for sale?

If someone buys enough shares, they own them, but if they don't own the majority, they don't. So it could mean they are, but it also could mean that they are in need of money.

Yes that's a possibility, someone buying up 100% shares, but for that to happen people have to sell them.  The most likely scenario is a single entity owning a 51% or more stake in them.  Which is very different from let's say, Yahoo buying Flickr.  Yahoo bought Flickr and attemped to integrate them into their eco system.  Someone owning 51% of Capcom can just be a shareholder yelling for more profits.
