The real test started in Nov last year :-/

I don't think so. That extra $100 makes a big difference to some people.

So the battle with Wii vs X360+PS3 never came (cuz they were never close to the same price)? Its not Sony's Fault MS included Kinect bundled with every system.

LOL exactly, pricing your product and the value proposition is a major part of it, people brushing it off make me laugh. Ps3 was more expensive, rarely are consoles the exact same price , especially over an entire gen.

Failed on multiple levels? Titanfall exceeded sales expectations. 900k physical copies in the USA alone in 3 weeks for XBO and PC is pretty amazing. I know friends who bought the bundle and me including others I know bought the game digitally.

I think Titanfall sold really well, just did not push units too much like people thought it would do.

Titanfall did amazing, no going around the fact but it failed only the expectations of MS. They were betting it would be the Next Gen Must have, PS4 still outsold X1 despite the marketing that was TF

Even though i get wat opening is saying, pricing makes a difference and it really does show, but shouldn't exclude the first 6-7 months cuz MS had it at a $100 higher price point!

As I said to another member above, I didn't mean a flat out failure. It is mainly all the hype that I think it failed to live up to. I think it sold decently.

I was on NeoGaf earlier today and someone shared that WalMart was selling the Forza 5 X1 bundle for $430. That's much better value than getting the stand-alone console for $399 and the same game. It's safe to say that the debundling isn't helping the X1 at all.

Their real test is when Sunset Overdrive comes out.

Sunset Overdrive is nowhere as big of a sytem seller as Titanfall was suposed to be, its not gona push throngs of consoles, lots of ppl who dont own a XOne dont even know Sunset Overdrive is comming. Its gona sell well push some consoles but its definetly not gona be a hughe thing.

I don't even think it will sell that well Sunset Overdrive 2 millions max

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

They should both be scared of Nintendo

i wasnt able to take any of what you said seriously after you said "Titanfall failed on multiple levels."

Well, it is not a flat out failure. It sold decently. Remember I said multiple levels, not that it was a complete failure. I mainly am basing my opinions on all the hype and what it was supposed to do.

according to fanboys on the internet. we all know those dont really use logic.

its a new IP that had a high metascore, sold 2.8 million at retail alone  within just 3 months of sales and no holiday season yet(VGC Numbers), already secured a sequal and is in one of the biggest publishers in the worlds (EA) long term plans for the biggest genre in gaming.

sure, it didnt flat out crush everything in its wake when it released, but thats because of the consoles it was released on. it did push sales, it did help the XB1, but no one game is going to save a console in trouble. calling it a failure on multiple levels doesnt make sense due to the success it has achieved on multiple levels. financial success, success in creating a long term plan, metascore success, good word of mouth, success in pushing XB1 sales. yes, it wasnt the Wii Sports of XB1, but who ever expected it to move millions upon millions just wasnt being realistic.

Why? Nintendo is no threat to PS4, Nintendos biggest IP MK did not outsell PS4, 1 week boost is not sustainable.

Yes it will be their biggest test so far but I think they will still beat the X1 even in June's NPD.
