I can't provide you with a link, but if you have a PS4 (not sure about PS3), go to the Destiny tab in the PS store. Under all the exclusive content, it says "Timed Exclusivity" in small print.

That's not that great. I thought they would get exclusive gameplay like Watchdogs got on PS consoles.

We always get the best deals. ;D I've never actually bought a game that had any sort of exclusive content -- for any system, so I've never felt the pain of missing out on some (probably)pointless little goodies. This would've been the first time, but it seems Activision doesn't want my money. |
Well TBH this too looks like some pointless secondary content to me. I mean it probably represents less then 0.1% of the entire game, and its probably a timed exclusivity deal too.
Never the less, the fact that Destiny does not launch day and date with a PC version boggles my mind? This could easily gather 2-3 million constant players on PC, with by far the lowest development costs. I have no idea why they went on this route :-|

Easy. It's because Activision and Bungie with their $500 million couldn't afford to put together a small team dedicated to porting their sudo-MMO over the the biggest MMO platform in the market. -_-

Agree. Do not like this at all. They really should stay away from the exclusive content...most people dont give a shit. Instead they can take that money and build a new IP or something.
The problem starts when one platform holder decides to do it then the other is forced to follow.
Was also kinda annoying to hear the cheers in the Sony E3 crowd everytime they announced exclusive content for a game.

Activisions are not doing this for free. Sony is paying them for this. When you purchase a console, you pay for the hardware, the packaging, the software AND the marketing incentives attached with it. Marketing is all about offering USPs (Unique Selling Propositions) which entice customers to purchase a particular product over another, give a competitive advantage as well as reduce price sensitivity.
The Destiny content is a USP that customers of Sony paid for when they purchased a PS4. The $60 that Xbox and PS owners are paying will give them their core content and they will not be robbed. Customers who buy a PS4 will have 'PAID' indirectly for the additional content developed for that particular console. It is the same thing about exclusivity deals in varying extent such as Titanfall, CoD or Assassin's Creed. There is nothing wrong with it... If a company didn't pay for this additional content, it would not have existed.
The bottomline is simple. "xbox owners are paying the same price and they should get the same content." <- Untrue... a portion of the cost of purchasing the PS is paying for this 'content'.
I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!
Ugh
Complete waste of time and money as ever, but it's not like I'm getting it on any other console
Let's be honest here.
1. Microsoft made this exclusive content nonsense go mainstream last gen.
2. Microsoft was being tight with the money as there is no chance on earth broke and going bankrupt in two years according to the internet Sony outbid them for this content.
Thanks jlmurph!

Two wrongs don't make a right. We could blame MS all day for what they started but in reality what matters is both Sony and MS have these exclusive or time exclusive deals now which are just bad policies that hurt gamers and gaming as a whole.
