Activisions are not doing this for free. Sony is paying them for this. When you purchase a console, you pay for the hardware, the packaging, the software AND the marketing incentives attached with it. Marketing is all about offering USPs (Unique Selling Propositions) which entice customers to purchase a particular product over another, give a competitive advantage as well as reduce price sensitivity.
The Destiny content is a USP that customers of Sony paid for when they purchased a PS4. The $60 that Xbox and PS owners are paying will give them their core content and they will not be robbed. Customers who buy a PS4 will have 'PAID' indirectly for the additional content developed for that particular console. It is the same thing about exclusivity deals in varying extent such as Titanfall, CoD or Assassin's Creed. There is nothing wrong with it... If a company didn't pay for this additional content, it would not have existed.
The bottomline is simple. "xbox owners are paying the same price and they should get the same content." <- Untrue... a portion of the cost of purchasing the PS is paying for this 'content'.
I am a Gamer... I play games and not consoles. I have a PC and Console on which I game... I like games. End of Story!
