I'm talking about CGI that is not part of the game and is made only as a trailer to a game. In-game cinematics are fine. I think I could live with a little CGI alongside gameplay to make the trailer look nice, but nothing like a full on CGI trailer.
This E3 was infested with full CGI trailers during both MS and Sony press conferences. I mean seriously, what exactly is the purpose of these things? They can be rather misleading, but even more so disappointing since they don't show anything about how the game actually looks or plays. I know people are going to say that the devs aren't ready to show gameplay yet, but if you aren't ready to show GAMEplay of your GAME, then you shouldn't be showing your game yet in the first place because evidently it is way too early in the dev cycle.. If you want to showcase the story, use in game character models and/or cutscenes, not CGI trailers.
What do you guys think?

it is weird... MAJORITY of the comments here doesnt answer your OP... lol
ahahahahahaha
90% of vgchartz user base their answer on the title.... LOL
and i agree.... it is nice to have CGI trailer that is not base on the actual game such as DEAD ISLAND.... great trailer but does it have anything to do with the actual game? no!!!!! so why show it?
before they just show an actual peson then show bits of the actual game play... but no gameplay and the cut scenes is not even from the actual game is just sad....
IMO i think most of the games that was showed is part of the CGI of the game... i don't think E3 is infested with CGI that is pulled from the game... but again i agree they should not showcase CGI if it is not part of the game
