Nintendo is the last company I'd see charge for something online, and considering they're pushing products like amiibo, I don't think it'll happen.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

iwata said online should be free before they even went online. so my answer is NO.

How the hell can they speak to something they are not a part of. That's just foolish on their part.

I mean just think about it. They see how much cash Sony and MS are raking in off PS+ and XBL by doing near nothing, i'm pretty sure they want a piece of that. But with that said they probably realise that they don't have the online games to make such a demand reasonable, that's why their pushing out appealing online games like Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, and new games like Splatoon.

If it offers free games and better online servers then I wouldn't really mind. The only issue I see with this is for other people paying for another service which may seem overbearing.

Thoughts?

LOL what world do you live in?

I'd probably sell my Wii U. Paying for online is absolute bullshit.

Free games every month, much more stable servers, and larger communities is doing nothing?

Yup, since they keep the bulk of the revenue.

Really? Estimates put it at 2-3 million users to start making a profit. There are what, 8-10 million subscribers? It took them a while to break even, and now they are making a profit (mostly due to the PS4), which shows they put and continue to put considerable amount of resources into improving PSN. Every month they pay multiple devs to make their games free for the month. That is doing nothing? Nintendo doesn't pay any dev anything, and has put minimal money into improving its infastructure.

You think PS+ provides nothing of value?

They've already gotten into the DLC game, I wouldn't be surprised if they start charging for online next gen. If they do that then they better improve their online infrastructure, the current online for the WiiU is not worth paying for.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

if it happens, it will be after Iwata is done.
