Forums - Gaming - Bold Prediction : Microsoft will offer huge bundle deals this holiday season and XB1 will hit $349 or less

That's what they do every holiday.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If MS want to compete they need to be $349.

Ignoring kinect I don't think it's typical to knock $150 off the price and give a top tier new exclusive away for a console only a year from launch.

Last fall they weren't dropping the 360 price an extra $50 and giving away Gta5 (no big exclusive to use for this hypothetical).

Bundles with lots of Halo yes, less than $349 not so much, the XB1 will sell fine this holiday in the US and UK. Elseware Microsoft must know it's DOA and it makes no sense to lose money on the consoles you do sell, it makes you look desperate and one of the reasons the PS4 is doing so well is perception. They just have to settle for pretty small sales, no matter how much money they have to spare. Microsoft have put themselves between a rock and hard place, companies just don't act that way you're suggesting, good work Don Mattrick.

Buying order: Switch, better pc

They will if sales continue as they are. Only way I'm buying an X1 is $350 with a free game thrown in. It's not worth more than that imo.

If Sony also has a $50 cut then I'll buy an X1 for $299 with a free game thrown in.  No buy otherwise, I can wait. Wii U + PS4 is more than enough

So the writing is already on the wall : $399 bare SKU is not lighting the world on fire.

according to who?

PS4 is already at that price

can see the usual MS bundle 2 games bundled but @ 400

According to anyone who pays attention. GameStop Amazon best buy charts. Showed a bump for a couple days then flatlined again.

Anyone with a heartbeat knows ps4 was always $399.

No, the average doesn't see it as a negative message. It just got cheaper because it doesn't include Kinect and people are happy about that.

People who wanted a PS3 or 3DS didn't mind a quick price drop.

Sure it does, like crazy gm reabtes on cars it screams you are buying an inferior product.  Now at 5/7k less you accept you are getting a gm and not a honda but at 50 bucks you might as well shell out and buy the better one.

Of course they did not, there are countless consumers where price is the most imprtant issue.  But they know they are buying inferiority but they have no chocie.

This is a horrible analogy.

I gave an example, quick price cuts increased demand of PS3 and 3DS. In the long run, any negavitve message ultimately didn't matter. Increasing demand and being more competitive is the goal.

$50 price drop is fairly normal for a 1 year old platform to be honest.

A single one sure the + out weight the - .

X1 went through unofficial cut and free game, kinex less sku cut and this would be a 3rd time there is a "cut" and i use the term loosly.  In addition of all the flip flops on what the x1 is.  X1 screams soon to eb failed product.  Product getting cheaper is great, doing it to fast tells the consumer it will have a short life span.  There are multiple ways to see things, but one of them always is no good deed goes unpunished.  At the end of the day Xbox one is a misfired product that failed to achive sales based on what it was designed to do and now is forced into something that its competitor is far better at.
