lol, I love how so many people are saying this. You do know that it is possible to have an active/healthy life while still playing videogames. Weird right? I know. And no, it's not normal, they usually always had 2-3 summer releases every year. This year, they have nothing.

Actually, the OP is right about that (unless Watch Dogs is this summer) but I'm not bothered. I just bought Mario Kart 8 and Pikmin 3 as the accompanying free game and I haven't beaten my Mario 3D World, Trine 2, Windwaker or played my NBA 2k13 properly. I won't be in any drought before September. Maybe the OP has beaten every Wii U game he wants to play already.

I don't know about you but summer is the perfect time to cut down on some backlog and put money aside for fall releases.

Am I the only one very disappointed with this? I mean, comon. Nintendo is basically begging their fans to have to go to their competition to get their gaming experience. 


Seems no of the current gen consoles has big titles for summer ... disappointing. Only One Piece Red Thing for all consoles and Wii Sports Club for Wii U.

But Wii U at least has several big and small titles for the rest of the year.

This is Sony only June-August, no Vita only games included.  All retail.

Yay for remakes and mediocre games! Yeah, this isn't going to impress anyone I'm afraid. It's quite sad how many remakes are on that list. Not even remakes of old games, but games that just released. 


And yet this is still infinitely better than what Nintendo is offering.  The more you try and play down this list the worse the Wii U becomes.

If I include digital only stuff the Wii U becomes worse even still.

There are hardly any remakes on that list, not that there is anything wrong wth remakes anyway, a game remade is essentially a new game.  And it is still better than what Wii U offers.

Mate, I can play most of those games on the PS3. I'd rather have Wii U's line-up for 2014 than Sony's. Not a single decent exclusive game is coming out on their console this year. 

And no, remakes aren't new games, maybe you're so starved for actual games on your PS4 that you think that, but that doesn't make it true. 

I still have to buy Fire: Emblem Awaking, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. All those games sound more fun to me than those on your list. 

Please stop making such generalisations. 

He mentioned that its Sony's release which includes both the PS3 and PS4, also there is only one official remake on the list.  And also how is your future purchase plans related to the topic at hand which is the drought for the Wii U from June-August?  try to stay on topic.

Summer is always sucky for any hardcore gamer, apart from maybe 1 game for a platform it's very rare for any summer to have games for a system. (outside of smaller/not great quality stuff).

Yeah, I'm not going into a discussion with someone that thinks remakes and ports of old games are new games.
I'll enjoy Wii U's line-up just fine this year.

"Enhanced port", lol you mean remake right? With no differences aside from some graphical updates.

There's practically no reason to buy a PS4 right now, and there won't be one until 2015. Of course a lot of people will buy it this year, but mostly because of hype. I do hope people that bought a PS4 want to play games that aren't available on a PS3. What else is the point of buying a new console then?

They have 3 Summer releases for the Wii U and 6 for the 3DS. If you don't like them, go do something else. Like going outside

No one really seems to have much at all until the fall :p The PS4/X1 will of course have the benefit of 3rd party support though the whole year which will help sustain sales, but things are still pretty bland all round.
