72 hours to finish a MGS game is like an eternity. Plus, it sounds like it's 72 hours to finish one part of the story, so no big deal. Also, this games sounds fucking amazing.

People blowing it out of proportion.. 72 hours is a lot of time. When's the last time you heard of a story mode taking that long? And the game doesn't end when you rescue Kaz. He's just one part of the story.

Dragon Age Origins and basically any wRPG which has a lot of side quests to distract you.

Yeah, and the 72 hours is ONLY to rescue Kaz. Does Dragon Age's main storyline without sidequests take 72 hours? I don't think so. As mentioned, after you rescue Kaz, you can do whatever the hell you want because there are thousands of Soviets in the map.

An e-cigar? Screw that! How pussified. :(

At least I'll be smoking real ones while playing the game.

Just answering the question. I agree for the most part that it's a non-issue, but it's not like their aren't games with ridiculously long story modes. However, going by previous Metal Gear games, I suspect it'd only take 10 hours if you didn't bother with side quests. But their are games like Skyrim where many players might not even touch the story mode and this could be a bit of a put off for them.

,but No one buys Metal Gear Solid expecting Skyrim, You buy Metal Gear Solid for the stealth related stuff. I've never played a MGS game and never will, but they shouldn't try to appeal to people outside their fan base.

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

I need this game. T_T

I doubt the time limit will really hamper your ability to play the game. It's most likely there to fully immerse you in the game.

And this is the first Metal Gear game to go Open World. Try traversing that in 10 hours. Seriously, if you're not into Metal Gear, it's fine. But you don't have to say nonsense just to put it down.

Lol, I'm not putting it down, I'm just stating likely/possible scenarios. Most Metal Gear games only take 10 hours to complete the story mode (a very good 10 hours that's worth every penny) and most open world games have some form of fast travel. Therefore, if a player was so inclined, they will likely be able to play the game in 10 hours. At the other extreme, you have some players that like to do side quests, and they may spend hours of the game not getting Kaz (poor Kaz).

FYI, MGS 1, 3 and 4 are all in my top 50 games of all time. I'm a big fan and looking forward to this iteration as I enjoyed Ground Zeroes.

So what happens if you don't save Kaz? Would TIME PARADOX appear on screen and then you have to restart?
