Forums - Sony - I'm starting to fear that The Order 1886 is going to be the PS4s Ryse

Tagged games:

I have no problem with linear as long as it's a good story, great voice acting and interesting gameplay.

I've never seen anything saying dull gameplay. The short gameplay I've seen looks fine to me. Nothing spectacular but looks good enough to hold the game together.

Nothing about what little gameplay we have seen thus far has come close to piquing my interest. However, there are some badass mustaches in the game, that cannot be denied, so I am willing to give it the benefit of the doubt for the time being, until we know more about the game.

I already posted the impressions for the OP earlier. Now I'm asking walsufnir specifically to explain to me what his problem with the game was.

its just on playstation.

Oh banana, please... What happened to you? You happened to be a real funny user, now you are fighting at the fence beside others? Why?

I just wanted to present a (to me funny) pic I found in a thread about the game.

the non-gameplay "part" of The Order seems a lot better than Ryse though
and the thermite rifle alone is enough to put it above Ryse's uninspired combat

Its Ready at Dawn not Crytek who are known for graphics but not gameplay. RAD done great job in PSP and I'm sure they won't disappoint like Crytek.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Sounds plausible and it makes me happy to see that Sony has moved on to copy Microsoft games instead of Nintendo games.

LOL, clever

I don't think anyone should have been hyped for the game in the first place. Sure, the graphics are good and the game looks "cool"....but Lair looked cool, Too Human looked cool, etc. Expectations need to be tempered. Why? Because Ready at Dawn is making the game. Who are they to make anyone get hyped for something they're releasing? The guys who take an established IP and just repeat the formula (don't fix what ain't broken)? How'd that work out for Arkham Origins? Or Halo 4? Or MW3 and Ghosts (the main guys at Infinity Ward are gone, it's a shell of its former self)? Soon as some different guys come in and try to repeat the formula (there was nothing that made any of the above mentioned games stand out from their predecessors), the games just end up being, comparatively, ok (lowest rated in their respective franchises).

Ready at Dawn is just like Warner Brothers Montreal, 343i, and IW (now): the only thing they've proven is that they can't make a game, in a franchise, as well as original creators, which is a given. But that means, in reality, that they have no real resume. So people shouldn't have their hype at a fever pitch for a completely new game from an, essentially, unproven developer. Not every game needs to get a bandwagon behind it just because it's exclusive. I don't want another Haze fiasco.

It's hard to make a game as bad as Ryse so i'm not worried. The studio has a good track record and that's good enough for now.

Yeah, I've been saying the same thing. I haven't seen anything that makes me think the game will be good. I love the graphics and atmosphere but the gameplay itself...

I'm definitely gonna wait for reviews and people's impressions before I decide whether to buy it or not.
