I think it's widely accepted that these reviews are paid for. No idea if better reviews flow from more money, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Pretty modest: he's a late night host on cable television, and was averaging just under a million viewers per episode. He's a known name though, so his impact is a bit above his numbers (albeit not by a ton)

Hah, I hadn't heard of these "reviews" until a few weeks ago, they're pretty funny! Laughed a lot at his remarks about the Villager, "looks like an evil doll coming to life in a horror movie!"
