Not on the Chinese calendar bro, which ends on Feberuary 19. Which is a real thing, stop being racist. And the Japanese are basically Chinese, so they're clearly using that one. QED.

I doubt, too much marketing, for Nintendo, towards it.

More likely 3DS staff has been redirected to the Wii U version to make it the holyday title no matter what.

I have a strong feeling it will be released before the end of 2014. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that they pulled resources early from the 3ds version to the wiiU version just so that they can get the wiiU out during the holidays.

It's not "months and months". The game is releasing in Japan in September, meaning less than a month delay from the most likely release date they intended. And games sell better during the holidays, but releasing both games simultaneously is a bad idea, because they'll eat into each others' sales. But too far apart, and one of the two will have reduced sales due to release period. One is releasing in early October, the other in late November or early December. This gives a comfortable 2 month window.
