This reminds me of the whole Rayman legends thing were so many WiiU owners were hoping it would flop because it went multi platform. Just be happy the game is coming.

Slightly different as people weren't looking forward to playing it in two weeks like they were Rayman. But still no need for anyone to wish a flop on this game, or any game really.

I understand why SE is putting this on the new gen consoles but if I'm not mistaken, Type-0 (PSP) on PSN Japan is Vita compatible (if this hasn't been mentioned yet).

They could have easily put this game on the Vita as a digital only content, if they wanted to but sadly, the loudest community on wanting this game to get localized got the short end of the stick smh

If this is true then I can see why a Vita version wasnt made. Take out the japanese vita market and you're left with a small number of westerners on a handheld that is barely being supported by it's maker. The X1 version is probably as easy as flicking a switch and porting from the PS4 so it's easy money.

But they didn't need to port it, just localize it for the Vita. That's why it getting excluded is baffling.

The Vita has a very small install base in the West, and Sony has shown no real desire to grow that install base. No reason for any other developers to waste their time and effort.

Soul Sacrifice Delta, Freedom Wars, Invizimals, Murasaki Baby, Oreshika all from Sony 1st Party this year. Not to mention Shahid(resident Vita Go Getter) is behind so many 3rd Parties trying to get them to make games for Vita, scoring things like Tales of Heart R localization, Borderlands 2 Vita.

but yea, Sony isn't supporting their own handheld.........

Soul Sacrifice is a double dip on a game.   Murusaki Baby is a small little indie game.  Oreshika is not developed by Sony.  Actually, none of those three games are developed by Sony.  But if you call that and a, by all accounts, buggy and dated ports of Borderland 2 support, that's your call.

They didn't put it on the 3DS or Wii U either. But hey, at least the Xbox One gets it.

True but a third exclusive final fantasy spin off was announced for 3ds

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

They don't want the vita to suffer but sony does. Sony wants to move on from the vita.

You do know that Sony doesn't make Final Fantasy games ... right?

You don't think that 3rd party developers are taking notice about the lack of 1st party support for the vita ? Most sony actions indicate that they want to move away from the vita, like renaming the Vita tv into playstation tv.

GT is the only bigger ip then Unchared not being on vita it's not even on ps4 Sony support was a way better then 3rd party the only big effort by third party is Assasin Creed Liberation

Soul Sacrifice Delta is pretty much a sequel. It boasts new game mechanics and it's own expansive story and a graphical boost. Its more sequel than MonHun iterations and no one seems to be bothered by those...

Murusaki Baby being a small title is irrelevant. Still a game

Oreshika is a 1st Party IP Published by Sony, but made by Alfa(this fact is also irrelavant)

Borderlands 2 is a highly requested title by fanbase. It has been/will be patched for stability. Not a big deal if you are interested in this game on the go.

Sony also has other games in Development still for Vita. They haven't stopped all 1st Party production like with PSP.

We have seen Uncharted, Resistance, Killzone, LBP, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper all make appearances on Vita. And the 3rd Party efforts that actually were good sold well; ACIII:L, Borderlands 2, Persona 4 Golden, etc.

Square Enix go where the money is. Vita is dead, they know it. Although it might sell decent in Japan, worldwide sales would be poor.

As to why its not on PS3 or 360? I think its because they see people buying PS4s or Xbones as an emerging market.
It is like how Watch Dogs sold most on PS4 instead of PS3 and 360.

Why anyone would want to have a game on the Vita when they could instead get the same game on the big screen on a more powerful system, which gives more possibilities to the developers, is completely beyond me.
