SONY has been doing this for years. MS has been doing this for years. Nintendo Probably does it to. As someone said earlier, this is even done for games that aren't even on PC or coming to PC. DriveClub's whether system was recently revealed and the devs comfirmed what they were showing only exists on a single dev kit at the time. The first showing of FFXIII was on PC. All publishers do this. Crazy people are the ones that make a big deal out of this stuff.

Unless you're told "This is footage captured from console X" and it's not, no one is lying to you. They said they were showing you Arkham Knight and they did. Believe what you want.

Again, this a publisher decision. It has nothing to do with Sony or Microsoft. |
Uh, so Sony bears no responsibility for the games shown at its own conference?
'Cause I'm pretty sure people are expecting to see Playstation games at the Sony conference, not PC games. To suggest that Sony just does whatever a publisher tells them to do, even at their own conference, like some kind of obedient, well-trained hound...
... encapsulates the state of the console market quite effectively, actually.

You're right. It'd be smarter for Sony to be like Nintendo and not listen to 3rd parties at all. That worked out well for the WiiU right? It's just flooded with games!

Exactly. Its not alright for anyone to do it.

Wow, you actually conceded the point he was making and are fine with the way this industry acts. |
That console developers bend over backwards to appease 3rd parties? What exactly do you want Sony and Microsoft to do instead? Rule over them with an ironclad fist like in the NES days?

I would like platform holders to put consumers first. |
So you want the console manufacturers to dictate publishers.

If publishers do not intend to put the consumer first, then yes, it's an absolute necessity. If publishers behave, then there's no need for it. |
Publishers will do what they want to do. I don't see how it's the place of the console manufacturer to dictate over them. That's going to do nothing but ruin relationships and drive them into the arms of a competitor. Why do you think so many 3rd parties ditched Nintendo for the Playstation?
