Forums - Nintendo - "Saving" Realistic Zelda For Next Platform Maybe Not A Bad Idea?

I'll be straight up in saying I think the new Wii U Zelda looks pretty terrific, especially the animation. And there is Hyrule Warriors too that has a more realistic style. And it's not like Link looks like a 6 year old like he did in Wind Waker. It looks like a Miyazaki film with adult/teen characters, not a Nickledeon cartoon. That said I did *slightly* prefer the look of the original E3 demo.

Lets be honest too, if Mario Kart 8 doesn't "save" the system, then there's nothing for Zelda to "save" anyway being a November 2015 release. So I mean if EAD wants this style maybe they should just have at it.

So maybe it is for the best to save the "realistic" looking Zelda for the next Nintendo hardware. I personally don't think the next Nintendo console will be a huge leap over the Wii U (but more of a fusion platform that allows for the same games to be played on the road and at home), but it could still allow for 1080p visuals with more RAM than the Wii U currently has, so that wouldn't be a bad bump.

That wouldn't be a bad idea. A game looking like The Witcher 3 graphically is better than something looking like The Witcher 2!

Link did not look like an adult in that trailer lol. Had to be like 13. He was like 5 feet.

I don't ever want another "realistic" Zelda. I want this forever.

Agreed! Idk why people keep on stating that Hardware isn't an issue for Nintendo cause it is! Nintendo knows how to make the most out of very little but that doesn't mean they wouldn't prefer more... Their games look and play awesomely and thats why I am a Nintendo fan and I always love their art direction in almost all their games and I don't really care whether or not their hardware is wii level or ps4 level but that doesn't mean they aren't limited by the hardware! So I am as excited as ever for Nintendo games and I can't wait to see what else they bring to the wiiU and their next console and I know that regardless of whatever hardware choice and style they make, it will be epic either way

thats not link, its his twin sister.... Yes im going with an unrealistic prediction, (but then again many speculate its not him so i might have a chance)

I wouldnt't be surprised if there were many things that the hardcore want to see being held back for the next Nintendo console. The wii u games shown today are definately ones I will pick up but I dont see them selling to too many outside the Nintendo fathful at this point. I think now is a good time to refine some ideas, try some new ones, make a bit of profit, and prepare the next console for the uphil battle by stockipiling ideas.

What if it was Link's .... (dun dun dun) daughter? That certainly would create an interesting story dynamic if time travel is involved.

I was about to say hell no, but then you said time travel. So the Chrom~Lucina concept..... Thats cool too! Hell i dont mind. The reason i think this "Link' is somebody else is cuz i believe they want this to have Co op! Maybe im overdoing it but then again.... This is supposedly not Link, so anything goes!

I've had the same thought for a while... Better save more realistic for a console that does it as well as its competitors..

But Zelda Wii U blew my mind. It looks awesome, and the art direction is really spot on. Me like.

Yep.
