Forums - Gaming - I'm buying a PS3, but I really wish I wasn't.

Well you have some points , but saying that software is strugling , is just a big nonsense , than to say that the PSPs 3rd party support is dead . The PS3 allready has some cool games , and this year it will get many more , so maybe , at the end of the generation you may have just a bit more than 10 games for your PS3 :)

that shows how attractive the console is (now) - even people who hate it buy it

I'm quite sure, that you will buy more than 10 games for it over it's lifetime, because there will be enough superb exclusive games (Sony is one of the biggest game devs after all).

What a stupid thread title, I'm not even going to bother read the post, good-day to you sir.

Dude get a Wii instead its so much cheaper than a PS3. Well The X360 has the best software titles available, best controller, hardware reliability is improving with newer models with failure rate less than 5%, Mulitiplatform titles look better on the X360.
PS3 relies heavily upon its brand name Sony and its past reputation. Main thing going for PS3 is the BLU-Ray player. By the way I bought a PS3 and it broke down on me within two weeks and I returned it. I also had problems with PSX and PS2 in the past. When they were launched Sony's consoles were unreliable. Sony fans do not mention this, lol.

Your buying a video game system... but you dont want to... okay, thats normal.

While I don't really agree with you about the lack of software I do agree with you about the controller. I hated played FPS's last gen on the PS2 because of the controller and the only FPS I played on the Xbox was Halo. This gen I feel very comfortable with the 360 controller. I played a demo of Resistance a few weeks back and the controller just felt like ass in my hand (har har, sexual inuendo anyone?).

Kingdom Hearts 3 Bet: If Kingdom Hearts 3 becomes a multiplaform title/is not Wii exclusive then I will be banished from this land for 1 week and sing my praises to those who have proved themselves to be more intelligent than I.http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y267/RDBRaptor/rdbraptor_sig16.jpg%5B/IMG%5D">
My Anime List

I fall into this category, but I've been quite satisfied with my purchase.

I mainly use it for smaller games, like Super Stardust, Everyday Shooter, and such. I'm looking forward to Echo Chrome and Home and Afrika.

Of course, I bought mine for 200, so that lessens the blow.

I kind of know what the OP means. I dislike the fact that I own a PS3, a gaming system, and do not own a single game for it. There are games that I plan to buy in the future, sure, but I hate the fact that I bought a game system based on circumstance (good deal, hardware BC and Blu-ray) rather than for the software lineup.

Hates Nomura.

I have 9 ps3 games in under a year - not including any psn games. I don't have time to play all the games I want. My list for 08 is big and that will double my 07 library. The games are there - no more excuses now.

Also, lets remember Blu ray is not only used for movie play back... It for games. We don't need Blu ray for games? Well, wouldn't Lost Odyssey be great on one disc :D DVD 9 will be the downfall of the 360 for next gen games in a few years. Cracks are showing now.

I had a 360, it lasted merely 3 months and two weeks, traded it for a PS3 which is still kicking after one year of intensive use. What's your point and what does it have to do with the thread ?
