And the sony guys on here thought that the PS3 would overtake the Wii. Funny that those proclamations are not made anymore. :)

Well, I was one of them and I still thinking the same. PS3 shipments will finish FY2014 (March 2015) around 90m. Why PS3 can't sell 10-15 more in 3-4 more years???

Wii stopped shipments, so if Sony decide some time in the near future to sell PS3 under 200 $/€ i'm confident PS3 can sell 3-4 mill per year on average until 2018, surpassing the Wii.

If I don't talk more about this, is because right now, there aren't any reasons to bring back the subject again. We just need patience.

I think the main problem is Sony actually released the PS4 at a good price unlike the PS3 launch which there was a huge difference in price from a PS2-PS3.  So I believe less people will pick up PS3 (this will be its last holiday season which it pulls good numbers in; perhaps maybe another holiday season after this year) compared to people picking up the PS2 over the PS3 due to huge price difference.  I could be wrong but I believe interest in PS3 will drop faster than PS2.
